Customer Readiness Evaluations - Hole Counter

I have been and absolutely love doing these audits. However I have had two store managers to do something that is a little off. One of them asked to follow me with his clicker to see if he gets the same numbers as me. Another kept coming up to me and talking about his reason for not having the shelves stocked (he got in 3 trucks, etc.) and at the end he wanted to know my numbers. Should I tell the companies about this? Does this negate the audit for the store? The last one was so weird, I really do not want to go back to that particular store.

This is one of the reasons why I tend to avoid announced audits and revealed shops. You want to be polite to the guy but you have YOUR job to do and if there are things that are amiss he needs to explain it to his district manager, you are not the judge of the validity of any reason or excuse. You do NOT give the results to the location unless your instructions specify you are to share them. "Not too bad" or "Looks basically okay" are usually enough to get you out the door and if they get insistent you say that you simply are not allowed to share your findings but they probably will be sent along to him eventually by corporate. Be firm about it. If he knows he can wheedle it out of a shopper he will also plague the next shopper attempting to do the job. I expect a normal amount of curiosity and a little pushiness, but when any of them become noxious about it, it goes in my report.
Agreed.

Most audits instruct you not to share the results on-site. In fact, that gives you an 'out' to politely and firmly tell them to leave you alone. And if they cross the line of politeness, it definitely goes in the report.

The company that I am auditing for does not give me the option of entering anything other than the numbers for each department. I don't have to worry with that one anymore as I am going to be moving states in a little bit. But glad to know for future reference.

I had the owner trying to bribe me last week. I think a shopper before took the bribe and I guess he feels he can bribe anyone. He bugged me for an hour then finally gave up. smiling smiley

Um..I cannot be bribed, buddy.
Is it really THAT serious? I do take my integrity as a serious thing. I have my instructions and I am there to complete a job according to my instructions and boss. I ask no questions because I do not need to. The company bought the service to know the truth to best serve the public in whatever regard. If we are able to bought and swayed, then that makes us lose jobs in the future because of corruption. I actually like being able to make these little checks. Geesh!
