Not knowing what you have been using and what you currently are using makes it hard to offer any concrete suggestions.
My own methodology is really old school--download the photos to the computer my moving an SD card or using a cable, adjust the photos for contrast and size and save them to a thumb drive to subsequently upload into a report.
More recently I have been playing with dropbox because my favorite Photoshop software is on an old XP machine and my current machine is a Win 7. So I download into dropbox or onto a thumb drive to be able to deal with them on the XP machine and then retrieve back to the Win 7.
My significant other likes to send me photos from his phone and elsewhere. He simply emails them to me. Have you tried emailing to yourself and then recovering them from your email?
