Becomeing a Mystery Shopper

Sorry about how ignorant this question is.

I just discovered this whole avenue of mystery shopping this morning and then happened upon this forum. I was already interested by the MSPA site but now I am practically ready to sign up!

The problem is, the site didn't seem to offer many details about how mystery shopping actually works. I like to know what to expect before I get into things and by this I mean the process and the details as well as the possible pro's and con's.

Is there a site, forum - some kind of source? Any form of reference with information that breaks this whole process and experience down to someone who basically needs the A,B.C's, if you will, would be helpful.

Thank you for reading this and helping out! MSPA is all so new and exciting!

Suggestions, ideas - anything would help me right now, thank you!

Teyla, the best educational materials are right here on this forum. The second best educational materials are provided by the mystery shopping companies. You will find when you sign up with each of them you will gain access to their tutorials. Put all those tutorials together and you have an amazing source of information on how to mystery shop. There is a list at the bottom of this page (see the blue link) for you to use signing up. MSPA also has a list. Be advised all this information is free. It's not necessary to give anyone money to learn how to do this.

Yes, Teyla,

Welcome to the forum. This is the single best place to learn about and discuss mystery shopping because the discussion is by shoppers. The information is here in general terms as well as specifics. Just browse in the new member section or go to the more focused articles in the Mystery Shopper Magazine that is linked at the bottom of the page. The MSPA is also a legitimate source. It gives some generalized information and a list of legitimate companies. If you want a tutorial that gives a visual, almost virtual reality walk-through of how to conduct a shop, signup with Stericycle - Expert Solutions and view it there.

Good luck on your journey. smiling smiley
