CAUTION! Bank changed the requirements so shop was rejected

This was with Reality Based Group. Mind you I just finished trying to figure out why my shop log stated they paid me $140 but never did. After a week, I was finally paid through PayPal. Onto the next project that I promised the scheduler I would do. The guidelines were very specific stating that I was to open an account and tell them I was a current resident and give them a current address which I was able to do. I was to say I "live, work or worship", I did. I am informed by the bank that they started a new policy within the past month where I had to provide documentation showing residency. Guess what? Shop is rejected because I didn't open a new account. Have I missed the boat or has RBG just gotten me x 2?

When you are dealing with the SASSIE reporting system a notice of 'paid' often refers to the date at which payment was approved and then accounting still needs to process the thing through for the money to go to Paypal, so I don't think they 'gottcha' on that one.

For your second shop yes, credit unions have a Board of Directors who set the policies. "Live, work or worship" have long been the criteria for many credit unions, while others may be specific for "Teachers and their families in a Tri-County Area" or "One Armed Wallpaper Hangers" etc. I hope that you contacted RBG about the recent change because future shops are jeopardized and I strongly suspect they would pay you at least part of your fee due to being unable to complete the shop due to a change in policy at the branch. The shop rejection may well have been done by an editor as a knee jerk because they saw no proof of account opening. Talk to somebody at RGB.

While there are scams out there, if you are registering with companies for work from links in the forum's "Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies" at the bottom of each page of the forum, you are being sent to legitimate companies. Not all companies are great to work with and some shoppers like some which others dislike and vice versa. Next to each company name is a link to discussions about the company so you can decide if it sounds right to you before registering.
What Flash said...Also, be sure to use the links listed in the list of Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies. Sometimes, scammers like to protray they are with a legitimate company to gain credibility (just like those emails from banks you don't bank with, etc.). They will then give you their link to sign up (and give the scammers all your info). If you use the links in the list here on this site, they are known to be correct.

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.
