While waiting for a full-time job

Hello all,

I live in the San Diego area. I'm currently working as a merchandiser as a part-timer. My hours were good the first 6 months when I started last year (around Aug 2013). The last few months, the hours dwindled and my reserves are getting low.

I have done some mystery shopping before but stopped for about a year since I got the merchandising job. I'm currently looking for a 40-hour work, but I know it will take time. This time, I'm seriously considering taking more projects for mystery shop to cover my bills.

I have also worked in the accounting department as a clerk for over 10 years and would like to go back to it, but have not given up. In the meantime, I'm hoping mystery shopping will help. I have free time in the afternoon.

I am MSPA silver certified. Do I need the membership? I recently saw an e-mail for membershi asking for renewal. How does that affect my certification? It was in 2013.

Mystery shopping can certainly help supplement your income, while you decide on full-time employment. There has been much discussion on the forum about MSPA certification. It works for some; not for others. Use the Search function if you want to read other shoppers' input regarding certification.

Thanks @mert. I'll research the older posts. In the meantime, I just go to mspa.jobslinger and build up my shops that way. I check here at the forum for reviews if I can pick up some tips. Sometimes, I just proceed, anyway.

I'm doing my own trial and error experience and hoping to become better as I go. In a few months time, I should be able to know what company works for me or not.

Can't wait to start receiving checks by next month. I'm starting my separate mystery shop file folders today.
I,ve just started Mystery Shopping with TreadSource and i,m doing my own trail and error experience and hoping for the best in going forward. I,ve only done seven projects so far but, looking forward for further development in future projects.
