New and nervouse about company!

Hi Everyone
I joined the blog to find out if the company I am about to shop for is legit. It is www.mysteryshoppingonlinejob.com. I am happy to find this site because I don't know how to research this company but I like that it is all online. I did sign up and got my first job that I am suppose to do in 4 days but it means providing information to places of a personal nature ie mortgage shopping. I am not going to do it until I know for sure it is legit. What are some of the companies you folks love?
Thanks

I don't think that's a legitimate mystery shopping company.

I suggest you read the information in the first few threads in the New Mystery Shopper section of this forum. Then I suggest you sign up with Maritz, Market Force, Best Mark, Expert Solutions and Bare. I can vouch for those companies. There are many wonderful mystery shopping companies you can work with and you will need to sign up with 100 or more. There is a link at the bottom of the page to a list of companies. Start with the five I listed, then add as you can.

Hi aaearth.

You have a great question. I can shed a little light on your company www.mysteryshoppingonlinejob.com by telling you what it is not. It is not a recognized company on the MSPA list or the longer list of legitimate companies maintained here on the forum. In other words the shoppers here don't recognize it as legitimate. But that does not mean everything so I looked at the site.

The site says it has been in business since 2005 but does not provide any contact information. The lack of a physical location and details of the company's officers is a red flag for me. If that information would have been provided, one could check the local BBB for complaints or the local city/county offices for business licenses. I am leaning towards sharing MDavisnowell's opinion it is a bad company. You might consider asking them for that missing information and see how they respond.

Regardless of how your encounter with that company works, you have come to the right source for great information about mystery shopping. This forum is a product of lots of experienced and interested people sharing information. The "sticky" threads in the new members section is a great place to start. The "Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies" at the bottom of every forum page is a great list companies. The five mentioned above are great companies for beginners to start with as they have lots of shops in almost all parts of the country that you can get started with quickly.

Have fun. smiling smiley

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
I googled "[www.mysteryshoppingonlinejob.com]; and found a bunch reviews that were not good at all. There was a few reviews that were postive about the web site but they didn't seem to logical to me.

I went to the site and was reading the home page and saw this....

Get paid to shop at online stores
Get paid to complete trial offers
Get paid to get free samples
Get paid to receive free quotes

When I saw this alarms went off in my head. I have seen these exact lines used by online survey sites. You do the survey with the promise of cash or "free" samples but the catch is the cash is can be only $0.01 to maybe $1.00. The "free" samples come with a shipping and handling charge that is about the same price that you would pay for the regular size in the store. "Get paid to shop at online stores" sure go ahead and spend $25 for an item and get paid $20. Cool you got an item for $5 OGH wait we forgot the shipping and handling charge, Oh well. Now "Get paid to receive free quotes" The way I saw this work was I have to input all the info about my cars and my personal info. And I mean everything. As soon as I hit the send button my phone started ringing. I really mean as soon as I sent the info my phone was jumping. Every insurance company that you can name was calling me. My email was bombed with "free" quotes. Even my snail mail box was getting more offers than you can shake a stick at. The phone did not slow down ringing for 3 days. I still get postal mail once and a while from Allstate. At one time I called them and told them to please stop. But that's better than the junk mail of a letter every other day from them. Oh yea I did get credit for doing the survey ----> $0.50

My personal opinion about "[www.mysteryshoppingonlinejob.com"];
DON'T DO IT!
