New shopper from San Diego, CA

Started shopping back in April 2014 to supplement Social Security. First assignment was a big bank with lots of branches in the San Diego county. Since that first shop I have probably done 400 followup shops in the county. I have also done a few cell phone and fast food shops.

I try to maximize my time by plotting my shopping route on Mapquest and downloading it to my Garmin. I have done as many a 9 shops in a day. But as everyone knows, the shops may go fast, but the debriefing can take most of the night.

Looking for help, hints, suggestions, etc on how to maxmize my efforts.

Hi SoJim,

Time management is a chore, isn't it?

With that many shops under your belt you should have an idea of some things that speed us along. But here goes.

Route planning you seem to have down,
Becoming an expert in the shops will speed preparation and imputing time,
Multiples of the same shop in the same day helps,
Doing shops for MSPs you have experience with will help avoid unfamiliar websites,
Look into mobile tools (tablets, laptops, etc) with possible WiFi access to enter shops on the road,
Avoiding procrastination helps too. But then I wouldn't be answering your question. smiling smiley

Good luck!

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
