God bless you for taking two car shops for $17 a piece. I won't touch those for under $50 under any circumstances. Keep your eye out towards the end of the month - most MSC will start bonusing the car shops. I picked up one last month for $95. Same exact shop, literally, was posted yesterday for $17.
Soon.....I'm going to take that Lamborghini for a test drive. But, I'm going for the Porsche next. There was one posted today for $150. I was all over it until I read you had to be a boy! Discrimination - girls drive fast too!

Shopping up and down the Colorado Rocky Mountain front range.
Time to find some apartment and bank shops, since those have fee/growth potential. Also, look for new car shops at a minimum of 35 each once you get good marks on those cheap ones. Thereafter, get 50 each! That is how you grow.

I have been at this now about 4 months and shops are not plentiful in my area. Here's what I've done or am doing this week. I don't know if you care to hear it or if it is useful in any way but I'm enjoying reading where you are going so thought I would share.
Home Depot $15
Ymca $10 easy or i wouldn't do for only $10
Onsite inspection $17
Best Buy $14
Farm and Fleet exit intercept this Saturday $50
So, 5 this week, exactly what I say that I average per week. Oh wait. .. i may have a video shop that pays up to $250 Saturday!

vivid, have you done any apartment shops? The non-video ones. They pay pretty well.

Vivid, how are you holding up? Your probably doing the $17 Car Shops pretty fast, try to keep them no more than one hour or your losing money fast. Keep your phone call no more than five minutes or web inquiry before you see the dealer. Seek out your salesmen and start your clock ticking. Have someone call you fifteen minutes in to your shop to get you out of there. You should never take a test drive unless your getting paid for it. If you spend five minutes on the phone car, fifteen minutes on the lot and the rest filling out the paperwork your in good shape.

Have you signed up with isecretshop? It's a platform for multiple MSCs. They had some well paying car shops a few months back. Also Monterey has better paying car shops.
Everybody who has car shops has better than $17 car shops!

I am in the process now of signing up for a few more MSC that pay better car shops, thanks to a certain member here!
I am done in 15 min max on all the car shops I do. Trust me, when I take a job I value my services pretty high...

Good for you focusing more on the mystery shopping. I know those 15 minute car shops. If you an knock out the reports quickly, they are not as bad as some make them out to be. On the other hand, the Porsche report can be a bear.

How do you keep a car shop under 15 minutes when the test drive typically takes at least that long? My bottom figure for these shops is $50.

Easy, no test drive. Without the test drive figure only ten to 30 minutes. Most of my shops without the drive averaged 18 minutes.

None of the 17 dollar shops required a test drive. I enter and inquire about a vehicle that I Plan on purchasing in the coming months. Get a price and a business card, smile and leave. My last one was actually 8 minutes.

The Santander bank shop I just did a few minutes ago, took me 7 minutes and paid $20. I love trying to avg over $100 an hr, I know I DON'T earn that but in theory I do

Book Keeping? I keep every job and receipt in a Journal and file folder. Everything I do is very organized. I log all of my mileage. I also do jobs based on an hourly rate. If I can get done 5 easy $15 shops in one day that take me 8 minutes a piece then you better bet I do that over some rigorous $75 shop.
Remember to add your reporting time to the on site time. Some $75 shops end up taking less total time than 8 simple $15 ones.

$75 midweek update. I focused only on MSC's this week, no Apps!
I signed up for secret pick up a few weeks ago and the manager just contacted me and pretty much begged me to take the job in my area, they have no one. He/She said it would be a long term gig. Does anyone have any experience doing the pick up shops??

Secret pick-up is a term that I have not heard. Since you have not named the client, you can help us to respond if you name the MSC, please.
