Castforce changes pay

I just got an email from Castforce. They are no longer sending checks but filling Visa cards -- which we have to pay the fees for!! I read over the email, and it raised quite a few concerns for me:

Do we have to join? What's wrong with using Paypal? We won't be able to bank our pay with this Visa. Why do we have to pay fees to use it? -- that doesn't seem right. It would be the same as docking our pay and that's not alright with me.

Anyone know anything?

if anyone paid me with one of those payroll debit cards...

the fees to use the card would need to be added into
the pay or i would no longer do work for them.

They get a kickback from the bank for using the service...

There are no stupid questions, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots

My computer bogged down in the midst of my going through the hoops so I haven't read all the details yet. They don't pay well enough for me to work for them without bonus anyway -- the WM they service here is horrible, can never find anything or anyone to help you find anything, the managers can never be found to sign off the report.

I suspect if they call me again I'll have to tell them to pound sand. But I'll finish reading the info (if I can get it to load this time) before coming up with a new "least I will work for" price. Right now it sits about $5 more than they offer; I suspect it's about to go up another $5.

I pray it does not occur that the last thing I did before I died was vacuum the house or eat broccoli.
I stopped working for Castforce. I recently saw (still getting their email) jobs that now pay $7.50 an hour, or what was the latest one.... 180 minutes for $21.00.

Stop the madness! smiling smiley
I also got this email, I also got a offer for a merchandising job that was vastly under timed. I would make about $2.00 an hour if I was inclined to take it. I am not so inclined.
What I have learned from merchandising is that they all pay low fees. I mean, if they had to pay competitive fees, they would let the store employees do the jobs. Vendor is a "job" created with the purpose to use less inside employees and WM is a star at doing that LOL.
It is up to you to select a job if you like it. For example i would do green dots at Walgreens anyday, easy fast and good pay/hour. I don't mind doing As Seen on TV because I know the cashiers stock it overnight. I would never take the build a dispaly of Adidas for $9 because I know it implies taking down an old display, looking for a manager that gives you the merchandise (one hourish?). Yea building the display will take maybe 15-20 minutes, but it is all the hassle that comes with it.

I have just signed up for the new payment and I have not ready through it completely (banks do loooong paper because they know no one will read them). I read the fees and I still do not understand how I get the money. Using an ATM will cost. They send free checks so I suppose I can deposit one of those checks on my bank account? It is highly confusing since I have never used these payment methods. But I will wait before criticizing....
I took my card to a US Bank ATM and there was a $2 fee from USBank and when I did not draw any money out I was still charged the $2. I call US Bank and that is their policy. I understand you can take it and use as a credit card and withdraw extra but I believe the withdrawals are always in even amounts and not say $199.50. I think the way I read it you can call and get a number to put on the check and then take it to the bank to cash it. I am not sure if you have to take it to a US bank but I think you do. I also read that you may be charged a fee if you call the card company. I really hate it but I guess I will leave it in like I do PayPal and draw it out when I actually need it.
I've been signed up with Castforce for some time but never actually taken an assignment from them.

Castforce should be able to offer direct deposit to a real bank if they can direct deposit to this card, and supposedly they still pay by check if you're signed up as a business. There really is no reason not to do so besides these kickbacks they're getting from Skylight (the prepaid card company they are using).
Stop the drama. I have taken the card to US Bank and used the ATM for FREE and also once inside as a cash advance for FREE. Just read the directions and you'll be fine. I like being able to get access to the funds on the day it is due and not waiting for the check in the mail. Just my 2 cents.

For me, it's more about the principle of the thing. I would like the choice to be paid by either check or direct deposit to my real bank account, or even direct deposit to a prepaid debit card that I choose (not my employer).

I don't have a US Bank around here, so if it's only US Bank where ATM withdrawals are free that wouldn't work for me. I'm not denying that it works for you (and others), just that it won't work for me. Unless my bank is one of the ones that allows free withdrawals (not likely) that would mean I have to go to two different banks to move my money into my bank account. With a paper check I only have to go to one bank--mine.
I guess I am fortunate. I used my EIN and therefore dont qualify for the card. I still get a paper check which is great since I already have too many prepaid cards.
Rats, I thought I would avoid fees by using this Visa as a debit card. I was charged $2.00 to buy a $2.00 hamburger at McDonalds. This is not going to make me jump at any more jobs from Castforce.

Do they charge to use it as credit?? Most debit card companies prefer you to use your card as credit and sometimes provide some kind of incentitve to do so. $2 is awfully high though...that is crazy.
Well, i guess I was wrong about being charged that much for the debit transaction. The $2.00 charge was for the ATM balance inquiry I made at the Kwik Trip. I should have known better. I finally got through to customer service, and they explained there were no charges for use as a credit card, but .25 cents is added for a debit transaction.
I'm surprised that they charge a fee if the card is denied. I don't trust a store clerk to only charge $XX to this card and the rest I'll pay with another form of payment. If they do it wrong, I'm out $2 for a denied transaction.
They have paid me twice on the Skylight debit card. I have had no problems with using it at WalMart and the grocery store. No fees have been charged.
I just did three jobs for them and when entering the report was prompted that it was "Mandatory" to sign up for the card to receive my payment. There was a pamphlet that I need to read but I did see the word fees. I agree, what's wrong with PayPal? These card companies make money off of fees. I want all my pennies that I worked for and there should not be "fees" involved with anyone paying me.
Question; did you set up a 'pin' number on the debit card. I have a card, have activated it, checked my balance, but, have not uploaded the balance to the card. I am totally confused.
I agree that we shouldn't have to to access our money, but I would try to figure out what the pay is minus the fee and use that to determine how worthwhile the job is. Also if the company has enough work to do in your area and you only have to do a withdrawal fee one time by making a large withdrawal, you may come out ahead.

With PayPal the business pays the fees, but you can bet that your starting fee is lowered enough to cover the fee. Though you don't actually see it, you are still paying the fee.
this card is very simple to use if you know a couple of things. For some reason if you buy something using this card and you make it a debit purchase, you will be charged 25 cents. If you use the card making a credit purchase, you will be charged 0. Also, you can setup the card so you can transfer the money to your checking account for free, or you can go to a Chase atm in CVS and withdraw the money for free.
I used to work for Strategic Merchandising Partners and in 2009 they were bought out by Castforce. I have done one job since the take over. It was a joke. I wish SMP were still around.

There is a program called evolve money where you can transfer the money off the card to pay bills if you wish. Also, I was told a year or so that you can always go into a bank and get the teller to give you cash off a credit card and there are not any fees charged for this service.
I don't understand the problem with the card. I take the card every month to a US bank and withdraw it all and no fees charged. Sometimes I leave it in for two or three months so I have a bigger amount when I take it out. I was a little nervous the first time I went to withdraw my money but after that it was "a piece of cake".
