Sizing Audits

So... Sizing audits. I've not done one and have honestly only been shopping for a few weeks, but I continue to see them popping up in my area. I imagine, the first few audits I do will be exceedingly slow and seemingly not worth the fee, but with increased experience and speed, I would think they are worth it. However, these shops always seem available. That makes me a bit weary about taking it on as a new shopper. I'm assuming no one else wants to size a clothing store for $16. Could I get some opinions or experiences on sizing audits?

Do you mean measuring the size of the store by walking around the inside or do you mean measuring the capacity of the fixtures in inches? Either way is not bad. I used to do the first for a company that got bought out and shucked its merchandising aspect. There was some travel between stores involved because they wanted several samples perhaps for a statistical analysis of the norm, for whatever reason. The latter have been few and far between, and usually related to something else I'm supposed to do.
There are quite a few threads on the topic. A lot of shoppers, who have shared their "system" love them. Here's one:

I've done two. It's nice that you can take the paperwork in the store with you. First, I count out 125 items. Then I work my way backwards and record the mis-sized ones. Shoes are the easiest. Still, it takes a little over an hour if your store is like mine and doesn't put the sizes on the price tags. I have to check the inside of every label except for the men's pants or shoes. It's easy though and the report is simple.

Hi - I do sizing audits for $16 a lot and I think it's worth it. At first I thought it was a lot to count, but I can get it done in about 45 -60 minutes. The report is easy. It does take a little longer if are a lot of mis-sized items though because you have to reporot what they are. I also like working on my own without having to interact with anyone.
I used to work for the store that has these done. They are pretty easy and straight forward and I would say after the first one or two it would be a real quick 16.00 visit...real quick.
I'm doing my third this week. It's not a big deal, just a little tedious because my store doesn't list the sizes in the price tags, so I have to check the actual clothing label. Shoes are the easiest! Just count out the number you have to go through and then start flipping through them. Now that we can take the form into the store, it's even easier.

I prefer to remain "unrecognized" as a Auditor so I can continue to do the mystery shops at this store.
My store is so oblivious that I could probably mystery shop them the next day and they would'nt have a clue. No one has ever paid attention to me doing these audits.
