CAST/Castforce Merging?

I can't figure out why anyone would do all that work at home.

I printed the part of the invoice the manager had to sign and that was it.

I set all of my pogs on my tablet. No way I would print all of that out.

I took all of the photos and took pictures of the paperwork when I was in the store.

I edited the pictures and placed a text box with the Store # and the Pic Code on it.

I have a saddle for my tablet so it hangs from my belt loops, you can buy it on Amazon.
You get used to setting pogs from your tablet.

Unless of course you have to print a copy for your coworker who does not have ANY retail experience at all, does not even know what a UPC is, can't place slugs or chips in a Cover Girl lip stick tray without them falling out all over the place and throwing the tray on the ground all pissed off (lol) and doesn't realize that Almay 401 Mascara has a different UPC because it has a blush sample in it but it's still the same product and DOES NOT GO INTO THE DISCONTINUED BAG and when you tell MARIA, she screams at you and the store throws us out.......oops, sorry.

F>ci( PAPER and Companies that hire inexperienced merchandisers (let Walmart train them).

I feel your pain. I would suggest chocolate, but I think liquor is the only solution at this point. Hope you have a peaceful weekend at least.
Hi Fellas,

I think I am also a victim of the poor/bad app. I am working on CVS incomm prepaid credit card project. There are three sections for main, secondary and wireless display. I attached pictures for each display in the main, secondary and wireless display and submitted my report. I just received notification that I did not attach the main display and the only pic attached is the wireless display. I worked on wireless display in the end and the last photo I captured and attached. I am not sure why they just received wireless display photo, not other displays. Is there anyone has insight?
I think I would Question the Quality "Question Constantly" Control team.

The reason, you ask?

Because one cannot Submit their Job unless ALL OBJECTIVES have been met.

Either QQCC is messing with you, or you aren't a real CAST employee.

'Cuz anyone, who knows anything, knows this about this App... ... ... ...it is just not possible to submit a job without the REQUIRED photos.

It just won't happen ...

Shahid - I have had this happen also. It is a glitch on their end. As the last post stated, you cannot submit missing objectives. I alerted my TOM to this. Just relax and go with the flow. You will get paid and the IT Team will eventually get this figured out. I had it happen with Navaho sunglasses as well as CVS, so it is not isolated to one particular project.
It happened to me a few weeks ago. TRU with 14 monitor photos. Everything looked fine at my end, but QC left a note that photos didn't upload, but no action needed on my part. I wasn't dinged either. After that I've been dumping the days' pictures onto my computer at the end of the day-the instructions and and all sorts of litter comes with, but it might come in handy some day.
And the portal / app has been down all day today thus far (3/29). Luckily, I checked the app before traveling to my first job because obviously I'd be dead in the water. I'm hanging on by a thread at this point
Thank you, CasinoMan123, for posting that the portal / app was down. Saved me from getting out there and being stuck without the app.

Thoughts, anyone, on the email regarding the new allowance for us Merchandisers? Apparently it does pay to complain / mention / talk about what ails us...

We are now paid for the full allotted time, even if we complete the job in less time than the project is allotted. Providing, of course, that it passes Quality Control and it has >>>PROJECT <<< across the top, AND we are there at least for half of the specified timeframe.

Yeah and WHOO HOO! !

Mine were 3'x4', no dummy phones. I do cosmetic resets so I had the card positions memorized after the first 3. I wear knee pads so I can bounce. I move the card from it's position to the new, the one I removed from there to it's new and so on. I dust everything, dusters in my back pocket. I never remove all cards unless I have a backer, then I place them on the floor in their new position; stacked in a special tube box I made.

I'm sorry, but I just loved this response, and now have this mental image of Spicy1 bouncing, and the feather duster flapping, everytime I see a 7-11.

LoL and thank you, Spicy1! !♡♡

I am not a troll, thank you very much. This really happened, exactly. I am guessing you work for the main office. They are begging for people and cannot keep people here in Utah.

1st - 7-11's cannot be scheduled or performed on the weekends, Mon-Fri only. Nope, they do allow work on weekends.

2nd - Cast does not charge for missing kits like Castforce used to. There is no kit agreement anymore. Nope, there is.

3rd - There are no regional managers. Only TOMS. They suck!

4th - No TOM is going to arrange delivery to a store location. Only your home.Nope we were told and asked multiple times if it would go to the stores.

5th - No 7-11 is going to turn away free help. They just point at the cards and say go ahead. They did!

6th - No one is going to get assigned 35 stores that take an average of 1.5 hrs per store for a 2 week project. I can prove it!

About the mileage if you carry your own supplies. It is a myth a company have to waive the 30 or 60 ile rule, whatever they have in place. I used to be a rep for News America Marketing (which is owned by Fox Broadcasting and Robert Murdoch) And they had a 30 mile rule and believe me, you carry a ton of advertising and equipment around with that outfit. I had to fill my car up everyday.

Same for when I worked for Advantage, they had a 30 mile rule and they sent supplies to me to install in stores on a regular basis. I wish there was such a law, but there isn't.

Actually, you can be assigned 35 stores and that doesn't mean you have work in every store you are assigned to. It just means that you are assigned to that store WHEN it has work.
I have and I did! I had 7/11 that I was doing it for 2 weeks and I was doing 3 or sometimes 4 a day. Sometimes it would 2 CVS and 2 7/11.So it is possible and it has been done and my check this week proves it!!! smiling smiley winking smiley
I have suggested they allow you to save the pictures first and then upload while in the store. I have told them they need a plan B they way Castforce did it with a piece of paper with the store number. Then if they do not get the picture you can send it too them and not have to go back.
I don't work for them because they want to pay me what a first year merchandiser gets paid.
But, if I did, I would take a pic in the app and then take one for my library and send them to a cloud folder.
I have this exact same situation with Convergence. I was specific about what I would and would not do (specified no major resets) but that was with the hiring manager. He of course said yeah, yeah, yeah go to get me on board. He doesn't deal with scheduling and could care less.

I also told my area manager the same thing but she literally does not read more than 5 words into any email I send her (I have to repeat myself endlessly). Same deal, I said no early morning resets and only within my 15 mile territory ... every week I am auto assigned to 8 am - 8 hour resets way, way outside my area.

The solution - each time one shows up on my portal I email and say "Please remove me". No hassle, they just take me off.

It is annoying but there is no way they are going to remember your work parameters. The jobs are frequently auto-assigned by a computer so it just doesn't pay to fight the system, just work with it and decline the jobs as they come in.

@cindy55 wrote:

This is an example not having any say over the jobs you get assigned. It was not with Cast, but another company, which had positive reviews from people. I'm not ok with 8 hour days that quickly become 12 and 14 hours as the jobs are understaffed or people don't show up. Cosmetics resets and grocery remodels, the bane of my existence.
Sorry if I caused any confusion.
I would be very interested to hear the answer to this one - I carry materials regularly for 4 out of my 6 companies and am not being paid mileage other than one pays over 30 (round trip). Hmmm.

@spicy1 wrote:

Wow, what a fiasco. I feel for you.
Doesn't the IRS say if you carry materials to the job they have to pay you for all your mileage and cannot deduct the first and last 30 miles?
I just decided tonight that I would no longer work for them. Looking at my last three jobs I made an average of $7.69 after driving 60 miles round trip and taking out the money spent for gas. I loved Castforce and the pay was great.

Me too. They gave me out of town work and gave someone else the in-town work. I think if I'm willing to do their out of town work and wreck my mileage etc., that I AM the one who should get the in-town work also. But that's not what they think. For the first time ever, I quit without notice. I will be more careful in the future.
Not to mention the app issues over the past couple of days. Their surveys continue to get longer, use more data causing devices and the app itself to crash numerous times. Synching issues and multiple calls to customer service. It's honestly not worth the multiple headaches. Should be still able to do the job not be dead in the water if the app / portal does not work
You should go read the reviews they are getting on Glassdoor, they will not be in business long. I did a lot of jobs for them out of area and made good money when they were Castforce. It was great while it lasted.

Here is an update on what happened to me with the 35 stores. They tried to assign them to someone else. They did not tell the person who took over that there were 35 big boxes and that they should bring a truck, she was quite surprised and ticked that she was not told. She had a small car and thought they would be like the old boxes that they used to send. She picked up 6 of them and when she called to complain, they told her it was her problem and she would just have to make extra trips. She left the rest with us and quit on the spot. After multiple calls/voicemails and emails we were told to just dump the rest. It filled two dumpsters. We have pictures and I would share them if I could post them here.

WildBill I am not a troll and that was not a very nice thing to say.
Have things improved with Cast Retail as far as the app and pay? I had issues with my phone and the app when they did the Castforce/Cast Retail switch but have been thinking about signing back up with them.
As had been stated early on, "Give them time to iron out the wrinkles."

I did, and I am glad I did. I am making good money with them. They are a steady stream of income, with an occasional 2 weeks hiatus. Their App has improved (ten-fold!) and my Territory Operations Manager is the BEST! He is GREAT with email responses, calls me now and again, and he gave me his cell phone number, in case I need to get a hold of him with questions during a project.

Overall, this is a good outfit to work for...at least, I have not had any real issues. They are still sorely lacking in the communications department, but they ARE getting better...with age ;-)

They have improved greatly, and my TOM is the best ever. I can even deal with the "incentive" portion of the project pay coming a pay period or 3 late. But cagey folks that they are, this week they tried slipping a lower hourly pay rate($1 less)in with Bed Bath and Beyond-I just caught it. It doesn't amount to much for a 45 minute visit, but I've got a message waiting for my TOM. Let them do it once, and they won't stop there. Why should they if they can get away with it?
They don't give me time to iron my wrinkles. And it's August 2016. But I oh, so, hope they succeed! And if you look at your paperwork it says some jobs pay LESS than whatever they gave you as your scale; probably $11 or $11.50
I saw that as I was fuming. I read it as it varies, but the base is the lowest. Don't know about other states but CA makes them give you your base on a Labor code notice, and any changes have to be in writing. We'll see.
What are you two talking about?

Sorry about that, HarleyMomma. Cast has been getting much better, but they added a new client without mentioning that they are paying less than the hourly pay we were hired at. It irritated me because it was not communicated to us, and in California, I don't think it's legal.
