I blew one today-MFI

Took a handful of bonused shops on Friday for this weekend, next week and the following.

Figured I knew exactly where one FF was for today. Since we no longer have to print the CPI, I didn't.

I drove straight over there after church, filled out the forms in the car-patted myself on the back for being so organized and not flying through the survey when I got home.

Then I went to input the survey. UM, can we say wrong location by about 8 miles? Same road, same 'burb-WRONG END :/

It would not let me reschedule, so I hit cancel- now thinking that was a terrible, no good, very bad idea. I immediately then e-mailed Help Desk, explaining what I did and what location it was, offering to enter that shop if it was out there (I saw it last week, but not today)

Thoughts? Probable termination looming?

If the desk gets back to you, they will likely offer to let you redo the shop next week. Their shops are due at the end of the month, but they like to clear them earlier by adding bonuses. As long as this was not a holdover from August you should be okay.
You should be ok. The same thing happened to me. Did a FF assignment, same street, wrong location. They are 2 miles apart from each other.

It happens to all of us at some point, I think.

It's not perfect by any means. Since January: rejected FF (another client) due to unclear instructions-they admitted, but still rejected; canceled FF due to tornado taking out my house, after which they deactivated me; after reactivation, got "identified" allegedly at nicer burger chain-paid, but removed from client; now this mess. Never mind the 55+ other shops that went perfectly.

I got my butt chewed by Help Desk for cancelling it, said it would go against me. Informed me that I should have just let it lie as an overdue shop until they responded, they could have rescheduled it for me.

This is what I don't like about MFI-they crawl up my butt and bonus me to death when they need something, but when a shopper has a problem-it's a huge damn deal. Schedulers and help desk people at other companies are definitely more shopper friendly.
I really dropped the ball with MFI this week. Everything that could go wrong for me has, and I rescheduled/cancelled a bunch, then had my first rejection.

I'm hoping that because they've called numerous times to do last minute, inconvenient shops, it will help.
Those numerous, last minute calls are killing me. I feel like a fool when I accept a shop that I don't realize until the last minute is a BREAKFAST SHOP (challenging due to time constraints) or the one I took yesterday that I didn't realize I had to shop no sooner than 30 minutes prior to closing. Heck, I'm usually in bed by 10pm, not eating.

Well, maybe eating in bed but never in public!

I did the same thing once, and didn't realize I had shopped a different store on the SAME street until that silly question verifying the address. Oh, did I feel silly.

Evaluating and mailing packages since 1994
Although we no longer have to "print" the CPI, I do anyway. Most of the self assign shops I do are more than a week in advance. I get busy and don't remember until a few days b4. Too much is at stake to go to a "wrong" shop.
A few shops that I've screwed up...

1. A phone store: was supposed to shop it between 1 pm - 3 pm. Stupid me didn't fully read instructions and I shopped it at 12:30. Shop invalid.

2. Restaurant: Same street, wrong location (by 15 miles!). The street it's on is a very long stretch of road and I completely screwed up the location. Another invalid shop with no reimbursement.

3. Bed Bath & Beyond: it was a shop and exchange. I was confused by the instructions and messed it up. Again, rejected shop.

See, I'm a big screw-up. Don't feel bad!
I've blown one too with MF!

I did the shop...did it correctly...but when I was entering the report, I put the wrong date in. *sigh* Rejected!

That's exactly what happened here. The scheduler called when I was up to my armpits in reports for the day, begging for help. I didn't take the time to go to the website and look carefully at the assignments before taking them.

If I had, I would have realized IMMEDIATELY why I had passed on this one previously-the mileage sits right there and while it's only 8 miles apart, it's going around the world to get there because it isn't a straight shot.

Totally on me.
I blew a theater shop that was about 30 miles away. It was a first assignment with a new company. I missed the restroom photos requirement. It was too far to go back to get the photo and had to take a loss on it. It was a very overscheduled weekend and I thought I had read over the requirements well enough (Nope!). Last month I blew a FF shop when I overlooked not getting my receipt through the drive-thru. After the dine-in I realized it so I went back through the drive-thru to get it. The receipt was not the original and the time stamp was later than the required time so that was a loss.

for future reference:

i have a cell phone with a digital calendar.

i key the street address (for example: 123 main street) into my digital calendar, sometimes with directions to the shop.

i will often also google the shop via google maps, zooming in with the google maps camera to see what specific landmark stores directly surround the shop.

I use Google Calendar on my Droid. Sometimes I put the shop addy in the calendar when I program assignments, but in this case, didn't happen because I didn't think I needed it. The assignments where I do input the address, it's a simple matter of touching the addy and triggering Google Maps with turn by turn directions.

That's what I get for assuming I knew where it was, lol.
I still use an old-fashioned paper day-timer in pencil and always include the full address & landmarks from the CPI which I no longer print. In my area (St. Pete/Clearwater, FL) many streets are named with the same number with the only difference being north or south. Missed the time limit once on a ff shop because I forgot the "S" on my calendar. I learned my lesson the hard way and now am very careful since the difference between north and south was 10 miles round trip.
It took me three tries one day to get the right FF shop done.

1. misread the time and went too early.

2. went back 1/2 hour later and did it again, thinking I was so glad I noticed before I went home (it was on the complete opposite end of town). Realized I'd gone to the wrong place the first two times. There were no numbers on the stores and it was the only FF of its kind I could find. Finally noticed an address on a store (the whole street is big box style stores) and clued in that the FF I'd gone to couldn't possibly the right address.

3. found a phone booth and looked up the place. The "right" one that I finally shopped was at the food court of the mall right next to the free-standing one I'd done.

Not only was it an expensive shop (I had paid for three meals by this point) but I had to sit in the food court and eat another meal when I'd just finished one from the free-standing location.

The only good thing was that I managed to get the third one done within the time limits and so I at least got paid for one of them. What a day!!
Oh Bena, I'm sorry but I am laughing out loud just imagining that scenario. Hopefully you can now look back and laugh but I imagine you must have been fed up at the time!

Definitely, isn't that what life is for grinning smiley
fed up!!!! LOLOLOLOLOL

After two meals, fed up literally! LOLOLOL

Today I Will Choose Joy!

"Finally, whatever things are good, true, noble, lovely, of good report...if there be any virtue, if there be any praise...think on these things." ....It's a command, not a suggestion!

Remember we only have to TASTE the food. Eating three FFs (only getting paid for ONE) is too much, I'm sorry. :-(

I used to do a morning and and evening FF for a certain MSC. Each required a drive thru and a walk in. That was 4 meals right there. One learns to taste a french frie and bite the edge on the meat and use the drink to rinse your mouth between.

They do not appreciate loyalty!
