I've signed up for a handful of companies and Maritz seemed to be the only one that never displays an available job. Just out of curiosity I advance searched for jobs in major metro areas (Miami, LA, Dallas, NY) and none came up. I'm beginning to think I'm doing something wrong - am I crazy or is it just me?

It's you but you're not crazy. They have a lot of work in Fort Worth Dallas, so if you searched there and found nothing available, it may be that you can't self assign yet. Do you know your status on self assigning? You have to do X number of jobs before you can self assign. Also, you have to get set up with them for each of their programs.

I can't go into the individual programs by name because of the IC agreement, but let's talk generally. Let's say they have a program for the XXX station. You have to talk to the XXX station team and get some stations assigned by a team member. Then, after you've been through that process and done those XXX stations, at some point you can self assign and you can pick them up off the board. Until you go through the team, you aren't going to see the assignments.

If you get set up for the XXX stations, you won't see the QQQ or PPP stations until you go through those teams. Then you can see the QQQ and PPP stations.

Let me demonstrate further by telling you about a real personal experience. I had been doing the ZZZ program and I was bored to tears with it, so I didn't re-up for the same ZZZ locations on the next rotation. They signed me up anyway and put them on my home page. I called the ZZZ team and said something like this: "It wasn't my intention to do ZZZ again." I didn't make myself clear that I wanted to skip a couple of rotations because I was cooked up, and they thought I meant I never wanted to do ZZZ again. Well, I never saw ZZZ again on the list of available jobs. To get them back, I would have to go back through the team so they would post them.

You need to call Maritz; they will either talk with you or call you back. They are very good about this. They don't work off email unless they specifically tell you to send them an email to clarify a certain subject.

But even if she couldn't self-assign, the assignments would show up. She would just have to apply and wait for them to call and assign them to her.

Lisa is right; even not able to self-assign, you should see the jobs and be able to apply. Call and see what is wrong. There are definitely jobs right now.

I could never see jobs on the board until I set up with each team. It must be different now. For example, I started out doing XXX stations. I couldn't see the QQQ or PPP stations until I set up with the QQQ and PPP teams.

I get assignment notifications from Martiz all the time for the Chicago are.

I did not realize I have shopped as long as I have but I have always been able to see the shops Maritz had. In fact I did not know I could self assign until a scheduler asked my why I never did. The only shops I do not see are the ones I am not eligable for.

I signed up with Maritz three years ago and I could see the jobs immediately but could not self assign. It almost drove me crazy because I had to apply and it seemed to take DAYS for them to call me (they don't do the assigning by e-mail, only by telephone), and shoppers who could self assign were getting the jobs before they got back to me. Then I would be stuck on the phone with them while they tried to get me to take every dog shop that nobody wanted. I FINALLY completed 10 shops and was able to self assign. Being able to self assign is much easier.

For several years, I worked for a major station chain. Maybe this is why I had to get set up brand by brand. Just a guess.

I believe you only need to complete three shops now to self-assign. I don't like the fact that they don't contact you diretly if there is a problem and you need to keep checking their website to make sure the shop was accepted and will be paid.

I think I remember seeing shops before I could self assign. The only thing they have in my area is the 2 major station and a fast food reveal. They have a hard time getting shoppers in some areas where I live.

If I go out 100 miles I see all the open shops from I live into 2 other states. If I go out 150 miles I can see shops in my state and 3 other states. Did you call to see what is going on?

You should be able to see shops before you reach self assign status. You have to complete 10 - 12 shops before you can self assign. The number to complete depends on how well you have completed previous shops, have you been late, etc... I have to complete 1 more before I can self assign!

OK, figured it out. Through the flurry of companies I signed on with I either wasn't "served" the page or missed some of the required info that I needed to submit. Got it submitted and off to the races! Thanks for the replies!

Same thing happened to me. I thought they just didn't have shops in my area. Another forum member gave me their phone number and I was able to start working with them.

Can anyone see October bank shops? I cannot and they should be posted by now. I think they banned me from that project. I only see gas projects.
