That would be a violation of your ICA to discuss this...

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
I'm new to the forum. Why would it be a violation of the ICA to steer someone towards a mystery shop company? This message board is pretty anonymous and you would not be revealing yourself to the client company.
The ICA prohibits naming the clients of an MSP. It's not so much to protect the shopper, though most times, we are.

Also, the posting guidelines of this forum state "Do not reveal the clients of mystery shopping companies."
Neither have I, but I have no idea where 5 Guys got such a good reputation. They soak their small buns in grease.
Don't know where YOU had a 5 Guys, but mine just lightly toast the bun and then put on only the toppings I ask for and the burger. Have you been requesting your bun be soaked in grease?
No, but my buns there always turn out that way. You'd find a better bun at White Castle.
Are you perhaps asking for toppings that are liquidy such as the grilled onions or mushrooms? Sometimes those can be sloppy.
Well, maybe not dog food, but Smashburger is a much better burger, IMO.

Smashburger has a different approach to serving your food and the way it prepared. 5 Guys started in Arlington,VA in 1986 and it has found a cult following that keeps growing. I have eaten and shopped both. With 5 Guys they want to know how the food is prepared and you can see exactly the steps that they use. Smashburger wants to know how the food and sides taste as well as the atomsphere in the location. They also want more information on the employees also. I like both so it doesn't matter to me which I do for a shop.
I shop 5 guys. I don't particular like their food. The buns are more "smashed" than soggy. Perhaps it is with all that wrapping up in aluminum foil.

But it is the only FF in my area by this one MSC. To stay on the active list I do the "taste test" for 5 Guys twice a month. I observe all the rest of the requirements.

Maybe my area needs a Smashburgers. :-)
Smashburgers haven't reached my area yet that I know of. Five Guys burgers are good, but I go for the fries. They're just like my mother used to make when we were kids. Doing their shops makes me nostalgic and there are enough of them around me that they're usually on the way to anywhere I'm going. I never go unless it's on assignment. My own homemade burgers are still better.
I just googled smashburgers. Apparently there is one where my son lives. I will visit one while I am there, which will be next week. I am interested in what one taste like. They have a veggie burger I want to try.

My grandson is a picky eater I might be able to get him to eat one.

Anyone who know the MSC that shop send me a PM. I would be suprise if it not the MSC that does BUffalo Wings shop in the same city.
All I know is that Smashburger in my area is shopped by a company I never wish to work for again, no matter HOW GOOD their food is. It just isn't worth it. And I do think they are way better than 5 Guys. They also have fabulous salads. But if I want to eat there, I'll do it on my own terms!
I ate at/did a 5 Guys shop for the first time recently, and was extremely underwhelmed.

A) Hate how they intentionally have the fries spilling over in the bag.
cool smiley I know they state that this is how the fries are supposed to be, but they seemed like fries that had been sitting out for 4 hours, except warmer. They were soggy and chewy. Again, not my style.
C) The burger wasn't bad, but I've had BK Whoppers or McD's Angus burgers that were less greasy.

Glad I'm ultimately not out the $10 for the meal.
I have done two 5 guys shops. If I had done location 2 first, I wouldn't have done another. They were so different. The first shop was fabulous in every way (well there was one thing I could report with regard to employee interactions with each other, but the food was great and everything complete).

Location 2 food was no where near as good, place was dirty and came complete with flies buzzing around and a drunk guy that wandered in and fell hitting his head requiring the police to be call.

No Smashburgers in my state, but they are in two areas I travel to frequently, so maybe I will get to try one out one day.
I hope you didn't unfairly mark them down for A and B, since they state that's exactly how they're supposed to be (boardwalk style, overflowing). As to the burger, I've never had a bad one there and consider Five Guys to be the In 'n Out of the rest of the country.

fortunately the MSC got in touch with me. Now I have a good reason to try this burger. Lets hope they are worth it. 5 guys are ok, but they are nobody whom I go out of my way for.
All this burger talk is making me hungry! And I have tried neither! Nor are they near me! Wahhhhhhhhh!
I am blessed to have both chains in my area. I enjoy doing both shops. If I had to actually buy my own meal, I would pick Five Guys. I love their fries and the free peanuts. The shops are a little more challenging, though.
Beatlesfan1964, I'm curious to know what is challenging at a 5 Guys shop if you like the food? Mine have all been accepted, but maybe I'm missing something. I find them to be one of my easiest and would do a lot more of them if we could order something different. Too many of them gets tedious.
Five Guys challenging? My only challenge is to grab as many as I can when they go up on the big board :-)
Just assuming here, but maybe beatlesfan only meant the Five Guys report was more challenging than Smashburgers.

I noticed a customer in Five Guys working on their laptop (wifi from a nearby Starbucks). I thought maybe I should consider bringing my laptop and entering some reports while I munched at various lunch shops. On further thought, greasy fingers and a keyboard are not a good match.
I have never done a 5 guys shop since the MSC has locked me out, but I have done a few Smashburgers. I would do more but the shops are quite tedious. It usually takes me an hour and a half to fill out the narrative. The food is so good I keep signing up for them though.

RAISITUP, U should shop in my area.

There are 10 FIVE GUYS in a 10 mile radius. One could do a LUNCH shop, a DINNER shop and a LATE DINNER shop at three different GUYS, and spend the next day doing the same at three others. That's where it become challenging. (And still have time to do the report, in between shops. :-) )

I am saying, the three time frames are offered at each one of the locations so you won't go broke, but U might gain weight.
Well I'm already an expert at gaining weight, but now that I hit the restaurants a little more often I have all the more impetus to hit the gym 3x/wk since it's already being paid for. I bet I could even fit in two McDowell's with the three 5Gs. Oh, the huge manatee.....
