WTF, Circle K?

I had 4 Circle K shops to complete today. One of the shop requirements is to buy a lottery ticket. I figured I'd pick up some Mega Millions tickets since everyone seems to be flipping out about those lately. I arrived at the first location, and it's closed - angry customers are banging on the doors and screaming about some sort of computer failure. I leave and go to the next location, where the clerk tells me that the computer won't print out lottery tickets after 10pm. I decide to call the next location to make sure I'm not wasting my gas driving there. On the phone, I am told that they do still have lottery tickets available to be sold from the machine, so apparently the 10pm thing is bogus. Then I'm told that they're currently closed, might be open again later, and then the guy on the phone goes "I have to go, there's an emergency." And hangs up. ..... what?? I try to call my 4th and final Circle K shop, and their phone number is out of order.

What is going on with Circle K today!?!? I just wasted my time and gas trying to do these shops and ended up with no lottery tickets, no completed shops and a bunch of weird mishaps. Anyone else ever had this kind of bad luck?

With the lottery so high, it's no wonder. It stinks when the shop requires a lottery ticket. Though, I seem to remember you could get a curbside photo if you're unable to purchase a lottery ticket. I don't have my shop guidelines any longer or I'd check.
They weren't far away so I'll just go again later this weekend. I'll go earlier and maybe it won't be as bad!
I am sure it is about lottery computer malfunctions today. Come on. You know what to do. Email your scheduler and detail your explanation. Yes good luck getting ahold of anyone on the weekend. I would suggest that you not re=visit these locations until you get a confirmation from your scheduler.
must be a different circle k project then the routes i do every month. These are unrevealed? I do a route that is revealed but no lottery ticket. I can buy whatever I want.

The ones I do would have allowed a curb picture. However, my camera wouldn't have gotten a very good picture at 10pm. I would have just gotten glare off of the lights on the sign and canopy.

Yeah I think I could've probably gotten a curb picture but it would've been very obvious and there were a LOT of angry people at these locations, it was kind of hectic. I'll just have to go back and do them right. Really I did want to get some lottery tickets though - I don't ever buy them unless I'm paid to, so why not take advantage of it tongue sticking out smiley
You realize you can't buy a lottery ticket from a machine at Circle K, you must purchase your lottery ticket from the cashier....

I've done your shops before. If the store is closed, report that and take a picture of the building. (if you can).

Report all stores..The client will realize that MEGA Millions means MEGA MADNESS. I would rescedule your shops.
So, here's my question:

Why did you have to just by a lottery ticket from the machine?

Why not buy a $1.00 scratch off? It's what we do. Neither my husband nor I had problems buying the scratch offs at our CK shops yesterday.

LOL - 3 of them were winners, so we won $7.00!

Some of the shops require a lottery ticket purchase from the machine so it has the time of your shop on it as proof of visit. I believe there are several variations of the shop.

r@iny, I am required for this shop to purchase a ticket from the cashier that is printed out of the machine.
Ah, okay. *duh moment*

I didn't realize that. I was in a "Oh isht, did I buy the wrong kind of ticket"? I had already submitted my shops and couldn't re-read everything!

The ones I have require a picture if a ticket from the cashier (machine only) cannot be purchased. I have found the weirdest part of the shop is getting pics of the pumps that are out of order. You aren't allowed to purchase gasoline, but some of these locations are completely packed, so parking in front of the pump is out of the question. Most of the vehicles are SUVs (naturally, since you can't photo from a distance away) and also naturally cause they always need gas! lol.

Yes, I realize I can purchase gas after the shop is completed, but can't afford it right now. tongue sticking out smiley
If there are SUVs in front of the pump wouldn't it be because the pump is functional and picture wouldn't be required?

I'm not surprised that things were crazy on Friday. Stores with machines malfunctioning probably found it easier to lock the doors rather than deal with the lottery mania.

In most (if not all) locations in IL, you can't purchase lotto after 10pm, much like you can't purchase alcohol after midnight/2am/4am or on Sunday's depending on your town.

I do the Circle K's you do a lot, and I have never had ANY of those issues you had! Sorry you had such a bad day!
I'm glad the majority if the Circle K's in my area don't sell gasoline. However, they are poorly lit at night and there is an increasing problem with assaults and robberies at them at night.
Question -

Is anyone else limited to only assigning 6 of these at a time?

I have a limit of 10 shops for this MSC (which is fine). But, I am only able to sign up for 6 of the Circle K's.

Once I've hit the 6th one, there is the circle/slash mark over all of the remaining jobs in this area.

Thanks!

IDK...I just signed up for a route with 75 shops and got assigned. I haven't run across this yet.

Thanks for taking that in the spirit intended, curiosity rather than my usual sarcasm, LOL! I never even thought of those double duty pumpssmiling smiley

I didn't either until I started doing those shops this week! The first night wasn't so fun - I didn't have my rhythm down but now I do and I think I am going to do them. I have done one or two before but never a bunch at once and never have seen so many hoses out of order!

OK, I am intrigued. I have been doing research for two months now and cannot seem to find the company that shops circle K I have wanted to do these for a while. Was wondering if someone would PM me a clue? because I sure dont have one... lol
I used to work at a convenience store that sold lottery tickets, and my understanding was that it was (and still is) against the law to sell lottery tickets after 10 pm, at least in my state (Tennessee), anyway.
As far as I know the only restriction in Missouri is they have to stop for that particular drawing like an hour or so before. I've never been told you could not purchase for the next drawing.

So is there more than one company that offers CircleK? I don't have to buy lottery tickets - just a hot dog or drink.
I think I'd avoid them next time. WOW!!
