Columbian Coffee is sold at all supermarkets., they are soldl in cans..Safeway, Ralphs, Pavillions, Smart&Final, all of them here on the West coast, although 20 sounds like a lot, I can name about 5 off the top of my head.

Live consciously....
Try:

1. Starbucks
2. Peet's
3. Other coffee houses that sell ground or whole bean coffee
4. Different supermarkets. Pick one store brand or name brand (such as Gevalia Kaffe) from each chain.
5. Different warehouse or super stores, such as Kmart, WalMart, Target, Sam's Club, Costco, and Smart & Final.
6. Convenience stores.
No, but they do sell Colombian coffee, usually in bags. =D

I was thinking of the brand Columbian, not the bean...have you done the shop?

Live consciously....
No, I haven't done the shop. I thought the OP was shopping for different brands of Colombian coffee, not the brand Columbian:

"I doing this one and have to collect and pay for 20 samples of coffees from different retailers, restaurants, etc. and then mail them to the MSC. I'll be needing 20 different brands from 20 different places."

I shop Peets and they do have coffee from Columbia....let us know what happens, too large a reimbursement for me to chance.

I'm sure you'll do fine.

Are you allowed to order online? Can it be ground, whole bean, K-Cup?

$200/20 samples = $10/sample. Definitely do-able, even with postage, if you can fit 20 samples in a flat rate box.

Another idea is get those tiny sample sized bags:

If you look for stores with (or google) coffee "gifts" you might find smaller sizes. I buy Gevalia. The have a lot of types online, and a few varieties in grocery stores, but I doubt the smallest packages are there. Good luck!
Almost every brand of coffee has a Columbian bean, and usually several different roasts using Columbian beans as those are the beans overwhelmingly used in America at least until the Starbucks revolution started and turned people into coffee conniseurs ( i know i spelled that wrong!). But there are still millions that prefer Columbian as they grew up on it and the grocers stock it as number one as well. Those small bags at the grocers are $1-2. At a bulk coffee shop you can purchase as much or as little as you want as they sell by the pound. So you may want to tell them you want to try it out in your home machine before buying a whole pound and see if they will sell you one ounce of several Columbians. They will most likely try to entice you to purchase a cup but you can say coffee always tastes different when made at home so you want to do that.
I also have an assortment of those little coffee bags you get at hotels and motels in your room. Most of them are labled with the type of coffee. So check with friends and see if any of them have some around. I always take a few home with me after a motel stay as I never make it in the room.

Can MORE THAN FIVE be non-retail? Go to Starbucks and its competitors. Buy way less than half a pound of one of their Colombian beans.

Do a search onlne of Target, Trader Joe's, WalMart, KMart, Smart & Final, etc., if there are stores near you. Even if you can't buy a sample sized "brick" or foil packet, you should be able to get a cheap brand or something on sale for $5.99 to $6.99 each.

You should also be able to buy small & cheap packages of coffee at discount places like Ross Dress for Less that sell lots of stuff in addition to clothing.

Don't forget places like convenience stores. Of course, there are the regular grocery stores. Brands like Don Francisco and others should cost about $6/can.

Good luck.

OK.

Don't forget dollar stores. Some of them have coffee, though I don't know if you will find 100% Colombian instead of a blend.
The assignment is much more complex than some of you are thinking. Besides that, when I did it, we were to never, ever tell what the assignment was about. I'd suggest you not go further in your explanations.

The completion of the assignment is also much more complex than it first appears. You will spend extra time. You will be paid promptly--of the agreed-upon amount and reimbursement.

I will never do that project again.

Well, the shop's completed and I'm waiting on the $ and the check's in the mail, I'm told.

All in all, it was a piece of cake. I worried for nothing. I'd definitely do it again in a heartbeat. Sorry, I can't give more info, but it is the Colombian Coffee Cartel, after all. LOL
I'm seeing this job up for $25. Am I correct in my assumption that they are really low-balling on the fee. It seems like a ton of work.
