They are something I believe everyone ought to do at least once in their lifetime. It certainly makes you appreciate the time and effort involved that grocery store employees endure every day. It can be nerve racking, but rewarding when you're through. I liked doing them because you're different than the regular grocery store employee. You don't have the interruptions of customers looking for items they can't find like employees do. You simply say you don't work there. You don't have a boss standing over you and you work at your own rate of speed. GOOD LUCK!!!
What is a "shelf tag audit"?

I did my first two today, and I would sign up for more in a heartbeat. I'd never seen them posted before until this past week.

Basically what you do is look for items in the (grocery) store that are on your list and then see if they have a tag below them attached to the shelf. My tags were supposed to say things like "Save $1.00 on your next order" if you buy so many of a particular item. Since I'd never done one before it took me about a half hour to go through the store but the report takes no time at all.

I'd recommend them if you can find them.
I just did my first shelf tag audit this past week. Mine was the same as "macgucci's". It was very easy and the input was extremely quick. It was a fast $10 plus $1 reimbursement. I'd love to get more also.
This week Balducci's and Dean and DeLuca were both shopped by competitors with shelf tag audits. Oooh, wish I lived in the city. But they gave you only $1's worth of food? Sheesh.

My shelf tag audit was at a regular ol' grocery store chain that's mainly in the southeast. For the $1.00 reimbursement I bought my cat a fancy can of cat food to get the receipt for proof of visit.

Now, for the two locations that Sneakers mentioned, $1.00 would hardly be enough, but for this grocery store it was fine.
In my area, they're comparing regular grocery with those incredible stores. I don't think there's ANYTHING in Balducci's or D &D for $1 !! But also, comparing prices to ordinary groceries seems pointless..
