How many of you guys do demos and merchandising? I am trying to maximize my paycheck to payoff debt and this sounds intriguing.

Rardon why do u say demos are a waste of time I have completed a few and did fairly well.
I have been tempted to sign up for merchadising jobs as I did this type of work [full time] in the past but I am older now and worry about the lifting and building aspects of merchandising...the job descriptions usually aren't detailed enough for me to know if there is heavy lfting or buliding involved. Also some of them say 40 hrs a week is involved and I just can't commit to that as I am not looking for full time work.

Register at NARMS, and you'll get a little better description with the job. However, they do want experience. I've been registering with companies and applying for jobs for about 8 months, and have gotten nothing.

Demos are time consuming but it is money!
And it is NOT hard to pass out coupons or samples.
You just have to decide if you can stand for the required length of times.

I have been doing demos for many years and enjoy them. It is extra money and sure comes in handy when I have a slow month. They can be a lot of fun. I am a full time merchandiser and enjoy the work. Yes, many times it is hard work but much of my work is audits and inventory checks. There have been a few displays that were quite difficult to assemble but this has not been the norm. There are many companies that hire for jobs that are for weekly service that are only a few hours. Sign up with the companies and you can decide if you want to take the positions that are being offered. I have turned down a lot of jobs because of hours or found out that the job was to difficult. I am over 60 and still doing this kind of work.
