Wait! I expect to get paid for any job I try that I cannot finish for no fault of my own. If Skus are not readable on the top shelf, I write detailed comments that they were not readable. I expect to get paid! I have expenses (printed pages of paperwork, drive time and mileage, time on the job).
Other people completing this assignment at another location should have no effect on whether you get paid. Do not give up getting paid for the time that you have invested.
Expect to get paid for everything you do!
