Market Force "changed fee!" ~ and it went down!

I'd been keeping an eye on one of the gas station assignments that had gone up to $20, seeing if it would ever fit in a route, or go high enough to make it worth the drive. Then tonight, they have the red font "changed fee!" thing over in the far-right column... and the fee is now $15!

I'd never seen one of those where the fee went *down*. And to announce it like that ~ geesh!

That's for sure. It was just funny how they announce it in red font, with an exclamation point even, like it's a happy thing, and we should be excited!

Kinda like the email I got from one MSC just before Christmas. It said that since the next two Mondays were 'holidays' ~ the 24th & 31st, paychecks wouldn't be going out until after the new year. It finished up with "Merry Christmas!!"

Seriously?!

And since when are Christmas EVE and New Year's EVE *holidays*?!

They're happy holidays for them when they can give us the shaft. Which is why I won't work for them anymore.

The one with the holiday message wasn't MF ~ I think it was TNS. What nerve, though!

I just saw that this morning, too. Kicking myself that I didn't grab the one that would work for my schedule when the fee was higher. Oh well - I'll just cool my heels until the price goes back up again!
So wait them out. I saw them at $22 over the weekend and was expecting them to jump to $25 today.

There are a few little pockets of gas stations that are in the middle of absolutely nowhere, but are on a state road that I regularly travel for routes. I love it when they hop up to $30. Four of those a day and it's easy money all day every day.
My max for those was $35 for several of them. I took them for less this month because I needed to be in that neighborhood anyway. They are way out of the way...
Hold fast. They'll go up again.

This kind of tactic is meant to TRAIN us to take the "crumbs" instead of waiting for the "cake."

Don't buy into it. TowerOrchard has it right -- wait for them to go back up again. If what we learn from this is, "I'd better grab it NOW before they go down," guess what, they will always go down instead of up like they should.

That's so insulting that I can't help but laugh. Do they really think we're that stupid? :/
Uh, they think we know how to breathe and nothing else, so yeah, they think we're that stupid.

Just checked the board...yesterday gas stations in the burgs around here were at $22. Today they are $7 lower. Bummer.

I won't do gas stations for less than $20, and only the simple ones close to home for that.

I remember in the midst of the housing bubble, I would see houses for sale advertised with "New Price!", and the price had increased rather than decreased.

Bad form, Marketforce.
Now, all of you who have/had shops at the higher amounts... THIS IS WHY YOU PRINT OUT YOUR CPIS!

Market Force is legendary for "bait and switch" with fees and bonuses.

No printed/saved as pdf CPI = No proof that the higher rate existed.
I print everything -- I'd rather waste 50 cents' worth of paper than not have all the documentation for the whole job. If the fee isn't on the paperwork or in an email I'll print the job board info that shows the fee.

I'm not in this to shop, I'm in this to get PAID for shopping.
