Burger King?

I got cold called by a major MSC (who left a VM) asking if I'd do a BK shop in my area tonight or tomorrow. This was strange for two reasons:

1. I didn't even know BK was shopped. I searched for the exact phrase here and found only and exactly three hits.
2. This was the first MSC I signed up for and BK shops have never (and still do not) show up on their web interface.
3. I was told I would need to download some stopwatch app (so smartphone was required)
4. This MSC typically doesn't leave messages when they call to beg for shoppers.
5. When I called back it rang off the hook twice, ending in a generic phone company "the party isn't answering" message.

I'm intrigued and the wife and I were going to have leftovers tonight, this would fit nicely but I can't even get them to answer back.

The special stopwatch app fits with what little I have read about the client. Doesn't the MSC have some schedulers who work from their homes? That would explain a generic telephone message.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
That's what I thought. It seems a successful scheduler would invest the $1.50 a month or so it costs for voicemail smiling smiley

If they told you on the phone where the shop was you should go back into the job board and find a town near that town in and put in a radius of 200 miles...it will likely then show up. For some reason they are not showing up like they should on the job board. I only find them that way. I did one the other day with a bonus on a lark. It's super easy although I did download the stopwatch app they wanted and would have preferred to use my normal method.

I, too wish they would leave messages when they call.

First time I ever saw it with this MS company. Super easy and they pay was in line with the other burger company they shop.
I used my own stopwatch app and the report was accepted without any issues. So far I've only seen the one assignment, even with widening the search radius.

You can use another stopwatch app, as long as you can email the times to yourself.

They called me and left a message Friday and again today. I'm honored :>
Would someone be so kind as to tell me what the recommended stopwatch app is for these shops? I have shopped for this MSC frequently and have checked the board multiple times over the past few weeks, but either these shops are snapped up quickly or are not in my area currently. - Always looking to improve my app in updates, and it's important for me to keep on top of what is trending.

Thank you!

dkdshop - For Android, it's called "Hybrid Stopwatch." It's free. The feature they like is that the app can send the timing results directly to your email. There's a different app for iPhone.

No fee, no shop.
Thank you, emccded
I use iPhone, but will do an Internet search for the Android one to read about it. Thank you for the info.

Much appreciated!

I just downloaded and tested that. Works great, but how would you keep anyone from seeing what you are doing? You have to tap the screen to do the laps. I can't even figure how I would hold it to be able to tap the button without being seen. I guess if you're only using it for drivethrus it would be fine but I don't think it would be good for an inside shop. Are these just drive thrus? I think someone said that.

I'll try it the next time I have to time a drive thru.

If you use an iphone the shop instructions say to download "stopwatch+free". I have done 2 of these BK sppeed of service shops and they could not be simpler. The app is actually kind of nice and I have started using it for other shops.
Since there are no more of these shops in my area, I uninstalled the stopwatch app from my Android phone.
I still have a Blackberry & a stopwatch is already one of the features installed. I used it and was able to email the results to myself just fine. They accepted my shop. It was fairly easy & the report was easier than the Arches shop. I got the impression that it was a sample shop for BK. The MSC was providing samples to try & hook them as a client. I wonder if the Arches know that they're courting the competition.
So do you send the email to THEM, or just use it to enter the exact time into the form manually?

You enter the times into the form AND you send the email to yourself. My guess is if THEY question your report, THEY may ask you to forward that email to THEM. I've kept the two emails to myself for those two shops, in a separate folder.
