How do you'all feel about audits?

Just curious, how do you'all feel about audits for these mystery shopping companies? One of the MSC's I work for had an audit of a Family Dollar store, and you even get to choose the one you want to audit, for $18. I applied but then deleted after I called and spoke to the local person who was setting them up. It was a non-reveal audit and it seems to me that I would not be able to maintain the level of discretion that I need to, to not be outed as an auditor. What do you'all think? Wise choice on my part, depends on the situation, or should I have just went for it?

I agree. If you don't feel you could have been discreet and didn't feel comfortable doing it, you made a wise choice.
I don't want to do anything where I have to "be discreet" for more than about ten minutes. Stores are trained to watch people who are acting furtively in case they are shoplifters.

I do lots of FD merchandise assignments, where you measure the doors, ramps, store-room depth. But I have always been paid fairly and bonused. I have never done unrevealed.

But I LOVE Photo Audits! smiling smiley

And yes, shoplifting is a heavy problem with FD, so I might feel uncomfortable going undercover and walking the aisles..thinking they were watching me...

Are we? In 10 years the most they taught me was the 10 foot rule, which supposedly scares people who wants to shoplift. If I have a suspect about someone I have to go look for a manger and tell him my suspect. Most of the times the manager comes back to the location, which is empty because the guy left. On the other end, if I see someone shoplift I can...do nothing. I can go call a manger and hoping I find him/her quickly, the same situation above mentioned applies. The situation changes if the shoplifter has $500 of product in the cart. They are easy to track down and the manager can follow them.
But again...were we trained? The only train I was ever given was go call a manger if you have a suspect. But again, I have less than a minute to open a case, fix the shelf, stock the item and dispose of the box...do you think I have time to look for suspects? To me even helping a customer is a big waste of time since I am given such a short time to stock.
If it is not revealed, I do not do it. End of discussion.

This makes sense to me, yes.
I also Love audits. Costco is brilliant, always seems to be exact to planogram, signing, etc. Then again there is Sam's club. Bad with the good. I don't do unrevealed, as it seems there is so much information to be gathered that it would make the average thinking person wonder what was up and start asking lots of questions.
Well, italiano, I never even worked store level but I received training when I was in the grocery industry about spotting shoplifters. I'm surprised you didn't.
