I have a soon-to-be 21 year old - suggested MSCs?

*gulp!*

My baby daughter is turning 21 this month.. and in a startling turn of events, she's showing interest in picking up some shopping jobs to supplement her p/t college girl work.

It IS tempting to suggest that she perform a Swedish Furniture shop, or a handful of targeted apartment shops with 23 narratives to extract a little revenge for the nights I stayed awake until 1 AM worrying.....

.... but I won't. Instead, can you suggest some MSCs for her that have jobs in her demographic? I don't see any these days, probably precisely because now I could use them!

Thanks!

Some of these won't let you see them unless you are of the right age. My niece does these and has worked for most of these plus the two listed above. I know there are more but that is off the top of my head right now.

Thanks! That is my problem, I'm not seeing the jobs b/c, duh, I'm not 21.

I STILL want to suggest the Svedish Furniture Shoppe Von Hellska, though.... Maybe after a month or so.
it's also highly dependent on region you are shopping...

Many of these type of shops are done by smaller
botique msc's and likewise these generally pay more
then the bigger msc names you see

Perhaps but some of these big names will work with the shoppers who will get them done. My niece has done routes for some of the above where she got between 25-33 per shop plus a gas allowance. And that is for a five minute shop that she has uploaded before the next stop. Her least expensive route was 10 a shop but brought her over $400 on a day trip. Not bad for a 20 year old.

Heck wish I could do them!

I agree Liz....even the msc's above can pay well for these shops. They get paid
big money for these shops and they require no editing since it is cut and dry.

I was pointing out that in some markets, there are smaller msc's that do these
type of shops and will pay even more then you listed. One of the msc's starting
pay in the NY metro market is 20 a shop plus a 5 dollar bonus for every 3 you complete.
And they will go well above and beyond that if take a big route of them.

On the flip side there is one big msc I don't see mentioned that does compliance
shops for 6 dollars and tries to convince people that is normal. Comes as no
surprise that they have a hard time getting them done...

I've never seen compliance shops at cori. I personally don't usually recommend them because their system is a PITA, lol.
I haven't seen CORI either but might be because I am out of the age range. I knew about the others from scheduling compliance a few years ago. I will tell my niece to sign up and see. If the commissions increase it might be worth it.

I get emails from cori periodocially asking
if I know anyone in the age range to do them(21-30)
and to refer them. For one brand they do them quarterly
and the other brand they do them monthly.
Commissions start low but they quickly jump into the teens
and 20s. These are in east coast states....dont know about western

I wish I had known about mystery shopping when I was in college!

It's the perfect job for a Marketing/Business Admin major, even though the advice I'd given her fell on deaf ears for the last 2 years or so.

You get to see customer service standards and "best practices" of all kinds of industries. You work independently, schedule yourself, and need excellent communications skills. And you are entrepreneurial to boot!

She's coming over for dinner tonight, and I'm going to give her the list of MSCs for her to get started on. Thanks so much! And if you want referral fees, please send me a PM and I will send her email address along.

One caveat: I've forbidden her from going to Vegas with me for the November IMSC conference, don't want her cramping my style, LOL.

I see the test. We don't have a lot of that brand here in the middle of the state but many in the Northern part and if we are headed that way anway it might be worth it for her. Well - if the commissions rise. I will let her know to sign up.

I would give my two front teeth to be 21 again. The "Big Box Store" sounds like "****-****," has the $25 dollar fee.... for trying to buy cigarettes...smiling smiley

second to none definitely. depending on the amount of stations in your area, she can make a lot, and she can pick them up monthly.

Depending on where you live, TrendSource may have some age compliance shops she can do. Also Corporate Research & (occasionally) Confero.
Nationwide Services Group Mystery Shopping does the cig/alchohol...shops..

But when I went to their facebook page, everyone was demanding payment! sad smiley

Now, to be fair, this could be a different company but I get inundated with those you-must-be-21-14 year old shops!
