T-Mobile $10 shops...BAD, BAD EXPERIENCE
Posts:235
I completed one of these assignments to the letter. I submitted a picture and a business card.

Some editor comes back and says:

"We can not accept your shop because, "we feel" (yes...pretty subjective) that you cut off the associate in your interaction (!!!???) and...."the person you reported on was not working that day" (????!!!!).

So...in my frustration (BTW, I have been doing Mystery Shops for 6 years +, so I have seen it all), I see that some "subjective" call was made by some editor sitting at a desk and that unilaterally, I was robbed of my pay, gas and time.

But...we shoppers are basically bullied by some companies...right?

Here is an email I received from a reviewer:

"Also, provide photos of XXX 8X, XXXXX 820, Other Windows Smartphones, XXXXXXX Bold 9900, XXXXXX Bold 9360, and OTHER XXXXXX Smartphones showing that these phones are not present. If you don't have this picture you must return to the store to get it. If you cannot in the next 12 hours your shop will not be accepted.Thank you."

All of these phones were discontinued and not in stock. I photographed every single phone in the store, every single display in the store and every single large sign. And he wanted the above in addition to that.

My reaction was not pleasant.

How can you photograph something that's not there to prove that they're not there??

I got this same email on two shops which is why I cancelled all remaining shops and deregistered from the company.

I totally understand you.

Some of these editors are either unattached to reality or like to play stupid.

If we are talking about the same MS company, I will no longer do their shops because the associate forced the credit check down my throat (credit ding, yes) and they did not pay me for a shop.

It used to be a great company to work for, now they have left a bad taste in my mouth. sad smiley

Boy that really blows. I'd be so mad if that happened to me and would definitely never work for them again. If they keep it up they're going to have a lot of trouble getting a shopper to do it (actually I think they already do...). I've only done a couple for them but after reading this I don't think I will again. That's just ridiculous.

PV-500 and will travel!

They cannot force a credit check. If they do not want to help, just ask the required material and tell the employee you will go and look for another retailer of the same carrier who will appreciate your business. If you need a business card ask for it and say you need it for when you will call the carrier to complain. I did it and they changed completely. I would do it as a customer and I do it as a shopper!

I stopped doing the cellphone shops after not getting paid. There is a thread here somewhere about my experience.

Italiano: In my guidelines it said, you may be asked for a credit check. You must allow one. (I had already accepted the assignment and did not want to cancel).

I hoped he would not ask for one. He did.

I was in a quandry there, 'If I say no, then I am not following the shop.' I did say, "Are you sure? I really don't feel comfortable." He also wanted my social security number to run the report.. I was getting light headed and wanted to bolt to the front door.

But he kept pushing it, as if my credit would be the determination, as to whether I was a "worthy customer." Because I liked this company ("liked": past tense)...I agreed to it and got TWO dings/reminders that I had a credit hit.... It turned my stomach. NEVER again. sad smiley
