HANOVER MEDIA, THE FRIENDLY MOVIE THEATER MS COMPANY??

Since Hanover supposedly took over a few major theatre clients that once belonged to Certified and started doing trailer checks, I'm interested in others' experiences working for Hanover so far. Please indicate things such as how quickly you were paid, how did their reps treat you, and what was their reaction if you had to cancel an assignment due to an emergency? I was just offered my first trailer check shops with Hanover, but couldn't do them, since they were First Show checks and needed to be done while I'm still at work. So, in the meantime, lets use this blog to review Hanover, which hopefully will prove to be a much friendlier MS company than "you know who".

I don't see Hanover on the main list of Mystery Shopping Companies. Can you help?
Hanover is a new/old company. From forums I read in volition.com, I read that Hanover was once owned by another group of individuals who were absolutely horrible. Supposedly, they didn't always pay, they were corrupt, had legal issues, etc.... Eventually, they shut down (not sure if it was voluntary or forced). Then, over the past year or so, they opened up again, but under completely different ownership and management. They sporadically had a few blind checks and open checking assignments over the past year, but I haven't seen any reviews (good or bad) since they went under new ownership. That's why I wanted to start this new forum, so we can all learn more about them and their new company. Just this past week, they opened up their trailer checking division, as mentioned above and seemed to have taken over a couple of major theatre chains, at least in my area. Therefore, things are looking very promising for them. YOu can sign up to work for them at www.hanovermis.com

I just got an email that directly contradicts the one I sent asking questions BEFORE accepting an assignment. Now I will have to miss a meeting at work scheduled 8 months prior in order to fit this in. NOT HAPPY!! If this is how they work, this is my first and last assignment I accept. I prefer the routine of CERTIFIED over this any day, even though they are nicer in emails.

Huh?? Dee, I have no idea what you're talking about. Your last posting doesn't make any sense and is very confusing. You just got an e-mail from Hanover contradicting something??? What exactly did this e-mail contradict? I know if you have any questions regarding an assignment, you can either call or e-mail one of their customer service reps, who I have found to be very friendly so far.
Yes, sorry-as I said the other i specifically asked a question and said, "if this, yes; if that, no," for being able to do the assignment. Now I get email that directly contradicts what I got for an answer. I will do the job as I committed to it, but my previously rosy outlook has lost a bit of its glow.

As for any MS company, if it appears to be an automated e-mail they send every shopper, then sometimes they do "contradict" how a particular shop can be done. Now, if an actual scheduler wrote you a personal e-mail or spoke to you on the phone, than I would take what THEY said over anything else. If all else fails, just give them a call and ask for the scheduler who assigned you the trailer check. I'm sure they'll answer your question(s) and clear up any misunderstanding.
It was not automated. I'm am stuck with it. I don't have any questions. I have no reason to call. I'm just saying that I asked very specific questions up front, and then get an email late in the week after agreeing to do the shop that specifically situates the shop in one of the NO zones for me for this week.

No Zones??? Dee, I'm very confused by what you're trying to say. First off, especially for an experienced person like you, what possible questions could you have about a 10 min. trailer check at a theatre? I also don't understand what you meant by "no zones for me"?? Are you saying that the e-mail sent to you indicated a DIFFERENT location then what was actually assigned to you?
I think what she is saying is that she asked about the time frame because if it could be done _______ then she would like the assignment and if it had to be done ______ she couldn't do it. I gather they told her it could be done during the time frame she suggested worked but when it came through it was in the time frame that didn't work.
It is not a trailer check. It is a longer assignment. And yes, that is what happened. Flash got what I was trying to state.

Dee, I hope you weren't trying to put me down by saying "Flash got what I was trying to say" because with all due respect, you were NOT clear in your original posting and Flash just made a lucky guess. The relevant issue is that you could've been clearer to begin with.
I wasn't putting anyone down. I was just saying that Flash presented it. Why the drama?

I am glad to know about another company. I am currently in the process of applying to every company I can find. I think that, with my current work schedule, it will take me to the end of the year. I've seen too many companies lose contracts I liked or no longer have anything in my area, and that changes my happy monthly schedule. I want to have as many as possible to fall back on. I'll deal with a few problems any company might have as long as I get paid. Thanks for the information.
We might want to start a different thread here, SS, but, when I am not teaching (like now is between spring and summer semesters) I try to do 1-2 applications each day. I can relate that when you are working FT it is tough to fit in. I have to say, I used the Jobslinger Plus trial to add 13 more companies within a half hour! That is because all use sassie, and with the one click sign up process for jobslinger plus and doing a search for "site: sassie shopper signup"
Although I have already gotten several new to me jobs and several jobs that dinged as they were posted, so it has been worthwhile, doing the trial is worthwhile for me, since it is free with no CC even for the 13 more sign ups alone. And being able to change my info with one click for all (now 68) sassie sites to change my cell phone. Good deal, even if you only use it for the 1 month.
