Not able to do shop today - What should I do to let scheduler know?

So, I have a shop due today at a clinic. I called this morning to make the appointment for later on in the day, but was told they're booked until Wednesday. I booked an appointment for Wednesday and emailed the scheduler, as well as left a message on the emergency scheduler voice mail. I will try to call them again, but just wanted to ask for thoughts on if there's anything else I should do? Thanks as always!!

Sounds like you did everything within your power. Since you waited until today to call, how long has the shop been scheduled to you?

I ran into the same problem this week because of traffic and the holidays. I emailed the scheduler and it was fine. I think that they are understanding with the holidays.
Thanks for the feedback. I've had it scheduled for a few days. I definitely see that it's imperative to try and schedule asap. When I book my own appointments at the clinic, usually they say come in today at 2 or something like that. But, I definitely should have thought about the holidays and how extra busy everyone is.

You will be fine. If you couldn't do it today no-one else could either. It was completely beyond your control and if it was me I would not worry about it at all.
To an extent, it was out of my control. However, calling sooner to book the appointment was within my control. I definitely feel terrible about that. I think it's best to call and book assignments as soon as you're assigned them (if you can). At least that's how I will do it moving forward.

I was wondering for you Americans, I know Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday are holidays, but do you also get Monday off as well?
Black Friday is not a legal holiday although some businesses will give employees a four day weekend. Monday is not a holiday.
