Well I never

Knew that my Mystery Shopping posts would pop up if I googled my email address in the google search bar (not the http site address bar). I just checked to see if materials from a target I telephone shopped today had sent me the information that I needed to document in my report. Up popped a google page that listed entries for several past comments and replies from different MS forums that I have belonged to over the years. There was a question noted in my http: google address browser that asked me if I meant to go to my http: (address) email account. I am incredulous. I feel like such a nerd. No not a nerd they probably would have known that these data points exists. I feel like an idiot. How could I have not known that such public information exists for all the world to see? Please tell me I am not the only one!

Nope, never knew that. My posts do NOT come up with my email address. Maybe there is something in the control center for your email address.

Fun to know though, spy tools. smiling smiley
Only one of mine came up and that was an online funeral guestbook from 2011

Nothing came up with google or Bing. I'm good.

Well.....nothing about me per se, but I think I need to change my handle. This is what I found when I googled mine

Barbage is two words combined (Bar Garbage). Barbage would be the usual suspects from scuzin bars you frequent.
OMG! Barbage...that is so funny!!! I can't even believe it. It's almost like getting a fortune cookie.
well I googled mine and it comes up with a post from Mystique Shopper Forum which I tried to delete and can't. I don't that forum is even still working!
If so they really need to do something about that! But I'm also the fool who put my email in the post (in 2003).

I'm pretty sure that it hasn't hurt me in the past ten years having it out there, but pretty annoying.
Vande when I first started cyber shopping years ago, I used my email address for everything - shops, forums, posts etc. Before the Internet, everything was done through the mail... I wish there was a way to delete too.
@Pooch5210 - @Vande

There might not be a way of getting rid of the "unwanted" data out there, the only possible (but so expensive) scenario is content obfuscation...

You know, new stuff gets posted with the data you try to erase, so that it pops up before the unwanted content. It involves SEO and Social Media services grouped together in something called Reputation Management.

A nice line of business if you know your way around search engines.

You are not the only one. I am horrified when I google my name. The most random stuff comes up from years ago.
@cabazan thanks but the solution is far beyond my abilities. I established a new email account and will only use the address for mystery shopping assignments that requires the targets to follow-up with me via email.
When I googled mine, I saw several posts from Trip Advisor about information I asked about in 2009 about Demark and one from this form. That was all, guess there are more interesting people out there.
I googled mine, and it's downright scary.

Thank you for letting me know about this.

I googled mine and show up with Mystery Shop Forum plus some other listings. Any thoughts about how we can prevent this?
I find nothing about me. I'm pretty boring I guess. And lots of people share my name.
A whole list of stuff came up from the forum. Guess it's time to change my email address.
