Rating the Burger Joints

I finally conducted my first Fatburger shop yesterday. I've never been there before. I cannot say I was impressed. But when I did the first few Five Guys, I thought they were terrible too. So, I'm doing another Fatburger in a couple of weeks to see if they grow on me the same way.

Some of you may have noticed the compare and contrast burger joint shops one of the MSCs has out now. It pays a whole $5 plus reimbursement. The ones closest to me are Jack-in-the-Box/McDonalds and Jack-in-the-Box/Wendy's. I could handle the latter but the first one for me would be the burger shop from hell. I can't imagine a worse way to make five bucks.

As I was thinking about all of the above, I realized just how many burger joints I have evaluated as a mystery shopper (considering I will rarely go buy a hamburger on my own). I thought I would rank them from my perspective with my favorites on top and my "must be highly bonuesed" on the bottom.

1. Tommy's (Regional)
2. In-n-Out (Regional)
3. Five Guys
4. Fatburger (At this point only because of freshness and quality but not taste)
5. Farmer Boys
6. Wendy's
7. Carl's Jr. (The original six dollar burger on a fresh baked bun shops only. Otherwise, YUK!)
8. Burger King
9. Dairy Queen
10. McDonald's
11. Jack in the Box

I did not include any sit down restuarants where you can order a burger such as Red Robin, BJ's, Denny's or IHop. I also didn't include Sonic because I always order a Chicago Dog and I've never had one of their burgers.

These are all that I can think of that I've shopped. How about you?

Don't even get me started on the disgusting fries and tacos we are asked to eat at some of these places and others!

The consensus is that $5 for what is in essence two different shops is ridiculously low pay. I agree and have decided not to take one of these shops. Yet, someone desperate for work will, so in the end it really does me no good.
i'm getting up to $9 reim/shop.. however, if u r to buy close to the same items at both shops, no WAY can you get $9 meal
I'd have to put Hardees Mushroom and Swiss at the top and the bottom. They are oh so good, in a naughty way, but if I eat one I swell up like a tick from the salt and chemicals.
5 Guys is my favorite but you won't see me there for $5, in fact, you won't see me anywhere for less than $15 (and that is if I am hungry and feel like it.)

Would love to try the Smashburger near me but it never pays enough...

O.o o.O

Happily shopping New England and beyond!!!!!
Five Guys shops start at $6 for lunch, $7 for dinner, and $9 for late night. At least here. I think the most I've ever taken one for is $11, they simply don't get bonused very high that often in this area.
Try to wait until they call you. When they call you they always offer twice more.

The phone person told me the highest they are allowed to offer is $12 for the Guys. Wonder how true this is.
It was probably the highest for that day. I don't do them for less than $12-$14 fee and that's only if I am in the area at the time like it is on the way home from work, etc.

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.
I've gotten 14-15 before but they go off the board here long before then usually.

I've eaten at Five Guys on my own dime........ I'll look for a Five Guys any time I'm on a route, and am disappointed if I can't find one. I'd do them for any price.

Now, Jack in the Box is another story. Takes a lot of bonus money to get me to do those now and when I do, I remember why I require a lot of bonus money and swear I'll never do another one. I've gotten to where I hate those shops, especially those tacos (that I really liked the first time I did a shop; ten shops later I was sick of them).

Time to build a bigger bridge.
In terms of burgers I love Farmer Boys. As for Five Guys I LOVE the fries! The rest... Yuk!

Never noticed a Tommy's, but I'm in Southern Cal, too, so they must exist. I'll have to keep an eye out since I agree with your list (In n' Out's my fave, but the fries suck.) I like 5Guys, too.

You need to get along with your scheduler for 5 Guys, and you need to know the monthly phase points for deadline. We regularly get offered Five Guys after those points for $20 to $25, and at the end of the month have received up to $35.

I assume it depends on the area. Here, the shops rarely go into bonus territory at all. They get snapped off the boards at the starting rate and don't get anywhere close to deadline before being completed. I would fall over in shock if I were to receive an offer of $20 plus reimbursement for one of those shops.
Five
Smash (but, never go, too greasy!)

I love Five Guys, but have not seen my neighbourhood shop in a while. Is their a max amount of shops you can go?

If you shopped them "like crazy" previously, they put you on the block list, so you don't over-shop themsmiling smiley

Not very true at all. However, it all depends on the area you live in.

Area and weather, plus day in the month. I usually get offered from the Philipino guys $18 and I ask for more and was approved, multiple times. When they call with $9 and full reimbursement I just say no, thank you and hang up; they had called me with $25 for the following day; but the GA schedulers are authorized to give the most.
