I think I need my head examined.

I woke up feeling awful today. For some insane reason I decided this was a good time to take the MSPA Gold exam that I had been putting off!

Now I'm pretty worried about it. If I fail the narritive do they have me write the same one again or some alternate one? How long am I likely to wait for grading?

I've not taken Gold, so don't know the answer to your specific question, but I doubt you will fail the narrative. Based on your posts here, you obviously read and write well. Your grammar and spelling are good. You clearly express your ideas. I'm betting you you'll do fine.

I'm still dithering on my narrative part. Passed the first 2 modules with flying colors. I am a GREAT procrastinator and I also had a little trouble with hearing/understanding the shop they were presenting. The audio isn't great for one with a hearing problem like I have. I think if I plug my ear buds into the computer it will be better.

Am also selling the house and I seem to be having lots and lots of lookers but no offers. ;-(

canadamommy: I have read lots of people talking about the pros and cons of it and decided to just do it. I just wasn't sure why on earth I did it while I was ill! tongue sticking out smiley I figured even if it doesnt get me better jobs, It can't hurt to learn all I can. In the end it had a couple tips I hadn't picked up on my own, but not many.

AustinMom: Thanks that makes me feel better. smiling smiley I spend more time editing than writing usually. So many typos...

plmccut: I passed the modules that are computer graded, I'm sure I'd have done better if I had waited till I wasnt sick though. That video is *really* difficult to hear. I had to play it many times and I *still* wasn't positive I got the name of the restaurant correct. They said somewhere that they know the sound isn't good, so I bet they make some allowances for that.

Yay! I passed. Apparantlty they dont send an email stating you passed, its just updated in my profle on their website.

Its $75 for the gold, you get 3 tries to pass the exam, then you'd have to pay again.

Hope you profit the $75 back from it......I have seen shops offered saying going to gold first.... but it you go directly to the job board they are indeed open to all..... I just do not go with the pay to shop that it turns out but if it works for you go for it.

Often times those are on the board for all to apply, but the scheduler will pick gold certified shoppers first. (Though I think they more go with shoppers with a proven track record first, then look at certs, then pick anyone left)
