The forum's job board

I've accessed that page at least 5 out of 7 days a week since May of 2010, but haven't been rewarded with a single assignment. Have others been more fortunate?

Nope. It seems to be a 'posts of last resort' and so areas where there are plenty of shoppers just don't often appear.
I actually got a lead from the board to an MSC that I had never heard of before and now do a ton of shops for them. But, it is a project with very few shoppers doing all of the work.

Otherwise, it has been a few shops here and there from the board.

I made contact with 2 different hotel companies through the job board, but that was years ago. I think the last time I checked it was somewhere around 2010.
I started looking at it a couple of months ago and haven't found a match yet. I appreciate the listings that show the shop, it's location and MSP from the list of threads. That makes it easy to look though the scores of listings and click on the few that may be of interest. Those that don't give that information (i.e. "$10 bonus on Sports Pub Shop"winking smiley get ignored because I don't have the time to click on those threads with so little chance of getting a match.

I suppose I could have put PA and MO in the headline. That would have been helpful.

Adding the cities: Sikeston, MO 63801
St Joseph, MO 64506
Poplar Bluff, MO 63901

Mechanicsburg, PA 17050
Greensburg, PA 15601

Would make the headline to long.

Then there the shopper who doesn't like when a scheduler takes over the job board by making a single post for each city they have, thus making 10 post or so with the same job, just different locations.

Sigh.

So much negativity here. How about some positive posts?
I actually don't think the biggest problem is that locations are not posted in the titles on the job board. I agree with Sally that we would have way more posts because many posts now list multiple locations. I can easily do a search that brings up locations in my area - but most things posted on the Job Board in my area are things I've already seen somewhere else. And most of those are the less desirable assignments that I routinely pass up. I barely give it a once over. I find plenty of plum assignments, but they are not the ones posted here. Like walesmaven, I have gotten leads every now and again........but few and far between.

Regarding the above negative remark about posts: There are quite a few positive posts, as well, here. Also, there are many posts and discussions which are fairly neutral in tone. Maybe you are having a 'glass is half empty' kind of day.
Negativity must be in the eye of the beholder.

And then there's the fact that bad news is news, and good news isn't. If just one of us started posting everything good that happened, it'd drive everyone crazy. Ooh! Trendsoure did direct deposit, just like clockwork! Got my Marketforce check, and my Bestmark check, and my Maritz check, and my Ath check, and even that little tiny Marketforce Purple check, right on schedule. And, Paypal. I'll spare you the Paypal. And then there was that scheduler who was so polite today, when he asked for my Paypal address, and then he thanked me for thanking him! And.....but your eyes glazed over two minutes ago, right?

(The only time lately that good news is news, is when someone gets paid by Gapbuster!)

I have successfully used the board, and am glad it's here. It has led me to new jobs and new companies.

And glad y'all are here, too! You've helped me lots and lots!

I check the board several times a week. I have found several jobs and companies from the job board.
Every time I check the job board on this forum, I either don't find jobs in my area; OR, I find jobs in my area but they're the ones I'm getting emails about or found on my regular job board checks, anyway. *sigh*!

EXACTLY. Love the forum and I try to check in often. I've learned lots and lots and I try to help others as much as I can. So..........I love, love, love the forum......the forum's job board, not so much.....

Yes, SallyGFK. Adding the states 'PA' and 'MO' to the headline would have given me enough information to consider the listing as it would have contained the shop (I would prefer the client name, but understand when it is not listed), the locations by state and the MSP because your posting name tells me you are from GFK. If the client name is not listed, I can often deduce that from the generic description and the MSP if I am already familiar with the shop. For me, it's really about time management. I, like many shoppers, am signed up for 100+ MSPs. It takes much time to go through the emails, job boards, etc.. Anything that makes it go quicker is appreciated. Thanks for your response.

I can't list the client name in my post, sorry.

If you are in my database, I can email you the client name, but I can't share it publicly.
I know the client name and it is...

JUST KIDDING(bet you really thought I was going to violate my ICA tongue sticking out smiley)

On a serious note, I do know which client this is for and I will not do these dine-in shops in OH for any less than $50 total (with reimbursement) ($40 for take out). I am familiar with Greensburg, PA and it is 100 miles from me each way. If I were to do this shop, it would cost $80.

If you don't believe me about $50 per shop, ask Beth Phaller for GfK. That is the lowest I accept. My time is too valuable otherwise.

Arguing with fools is like playing chess with a pigeon...
...No matter how good you are, the pigeon will s@^t on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

Not scheduling for ANY company.
