How is everyone's April going?

Time for the monthly check in post.

How is your April going? With 9 days left in the month
it's time to start racking up those bonus shops!

For me, the exodus of southern state shoppers continues.
Maybe all the road construction that has started or is starting
shortly is keeping shoppers away. Maybe it's gas prices. I don't know for sure,
but whatever the reason it's keeping me much busier then usual
for this time of year. I've completed hundreds of shops this month
and about 75 of them was because of lack of shoppers and I
did them at a substantial premium to the base rate.

This is a very strange month. I usually only shop the last few days of the month with the big bonuses, but for some reason my phone was ringing off the hook with big bonuses for last week. Strange?????

I did more shops last week alone than I usually do in a month, so I wonder if they will be calling me to do the month end bonuses?
I hit my minimum target very early in the month and have stopped shopping to enjoy time with the family.
I see lots and lots of shops daily...some getting pretty desperate.

Seems to be a plethora of available shops.

I got one good shop and a half-dozen others. Made what I aim for. Hoping for some bonused shops to come my way late this week or early next week!

I was on vacation for 10 days, so my month has been great! I will say, however, that the airport shops were ALL taken up by ONE shopper for TWO different mscs so nothing was available to me! That's okay--I got to relax and not think about anything.

Slim job pickings in my area this month. Hope this is due to spring break and Easter and does not portend a trend!

April was a crazy but excellent month. I just got back from my first cruise MS. It was a blast.

I had a few big bonus shops here and there. Hoping to finish the month strong.
Apparently all the shoppers have migrated to the Tampa Bay area. I can drive 40 miles (2.5 hours) to get a $9 McDonald's shop or drive 50 miles and pay $2.50 in tolls for a $10 Citgo audit. Everything else I see is at the base rate. I did get $16 for a Spencer's but that's because I'm under 40.

I was just over there this weekend because no one
wanted to do shops stretching from Zephyrillis to Brandon to Palmetto
and everywhere in between.

My month has been poor. Might not make it even to January's total.

techman,
I must not be signed up with the company you were doing the work for. That or I don't meet the qualifications.

Hundreds???? How? what? where? I don't even see that many come across for all my companies combined. Yay rural living where 10 shops becomes a good month tongue sticking out smiley . This has been awful. Several BIG companies have had empty job boards most of the month. Although today was great. One my way to do a couple shops I got called with a big bonus for my favorite burger shops. I used to do 2 of those a week it seemed but this is the first I've done in 2 months. I just need to sign up for more and more companies. I want one of these routes everyone talks about! Been
This has been a good month for me. I think I have only taken two shops that weren't bonused this month.
Still working dumb and hard and happy.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
A few less shops than March, but more pay than March. Broke my all-time single-day pay record twice this month.
If I was in a state where the roads made more sense and the gps wasn't so fed up with wonky streets names, I would have been able to take more. I however have reached my goal. I could be greedy and try for a tad more however I am exhausted since I didn't get a day off this month - and there are more shops with major bonuses out there. Sigh.

It is time for me to leave and camp for a few days before I go north. I am however still tempted to stick it out until the last possible moment though. no-no I must go...

Just lost trying to find a fire pit in a concrete jungle wishing it was a wooded glen...

if it wasn't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all

Strangly, I got several calls for bonus arches and blue banks the first week in April.

So now I know Jonk, Techman and a hundred other shoppers are my competition.

I am working several "projects," where shops come in batches, but are too local to really be considered routes. April has been very busy and May is crammed with batches of shops that come at me 18 to 25 at a time. I think that, after 9 years, I am hitting "critical mass" where projects keep me too busy to look at job boards.

Can't be as much competition as you think because I
wouldn't travel to the west coast of FL without heavy
bonuses. I turned down a rather large project in the
Fort Myers area because I didnt have the time with
my other routes already scheduled. My normal shopping
range is Florida to Maine and anywhere in between on
the east coast. It's now expanding to regularly include
more southern states. Also I find that alot of shops in
Florida don't ever go on the job boards and others that
do are handled by smaller botique msc's that handle
only 1 or 2 regional clients at most.

I think I've done like 4 jobs this month. I've spent way too much time fighting with home builders, preparing my house for sale, selling my house, firing a builder, and scrambling to find a place to live.
Thank God I have this incredibly flexible job that allows me to take time to do these things.

Seriously, nobody cares that you're offended.
I've only done 20 this month, so far, but they've been ones that I've enjoyed: Panda Express, Legos, Aveda, HoneyBaked Ham, Pandora, etc.
I did one large project this month which kept me hopping for several days. But for the most part, things have been pretty slow. I'm good with the slow-down because I have a lot of other things going on in other areas.

Samantha has been emailing me a lot lately with some low numbers.

Evaluating and mailing packages since 1994
I had a record FOUR MS companies call me today! I did not take any of them, and only one left a message, offering a large bonus on one of my regular shops. I am burned out right now, and have more important issues to focus on. I am not planning to take any more this month, other than the one I have scheduled for Friday. Even passing on the two $40 DYI emails I got today. I wonder why they are all so desperate all of a sudden?
This has been my best month so far, but I'm exhausted. I tried 5 new shops and worked with 11 different MSCs. Between my W2 job and mystery shopping I'm putting in 50-65 hour weeks. I'm going to work on quality over quantity in the future.

It's almost been a blessing to be at home with "pink eye" the last two days.
I am involved in a very intense volunteer situation for the next two weeks so no shops for me. Will get back in the saddle after that. If you're in the Milwaukee area--watch the MPTV (Channel 10) Auction and bid high! LOL
I'm slow but that's bec I'm not really trying....took a few nicely bonused DIY shops but not much else.....my fav groc store has been put on hold til mid may....
