Why are so many 5 Guys sitting on the boards?

I'm not able to shop right now for any companies, but I DO notice a lot of 5 Guys, as many as 6, just sitting there on the boards....

Now they are "bonusing" the 5 Guys to get shoppers!

It used to be the 5 Guys would be snagged instantly (by me or others)

Why do you think they are just sitting there?

There are a lot of shoppers who have been shopping Five Guys since 2009 and are now required to "qualify" by taking a test in order to accept these shops. I'm hearing many are unwilling to bother with the test unless the fees go up. That may or at not be why so many are sitting untouched.
Because no one wants them! I keep getting offers to do them. I purposefully flunked the test and they still send me the e-mails. I don't like their food. The burgers are okay but I don't like the fries at all.

Hmm. If this has been talked about on the forum, I missed it. I haven't heard about the qualifying test. Shoppers I know who like Five Guys haven't mentioned it either. Maybe requiring some shoppers to qualify is random, or may be they are targeted. Curious. The first Five Guys shop I did was in '07, and it was with a different MSC. That MSC had training videos.

I just shopped Five Guys for the first time in months, and was pleased that I could order what I wanted. Even no bun, if that's what I want. I had the veggie sandwich. It wasn't a veggie burger, but was grilled veggies of my choice. What a nice surprice, and quite good.
@ Mert ~ Do you have to order the fries? The grilled veggies sounds yummy!

Still had to order the fries. But, I am long over themsmiling smiley I ate two or three and was done.

I have always liked their grilled mushrooms and onions, when I ordered burgers. So my veggie sandwich was grilled shrooms, onion, green peppers and jalapenos, then topped with tomatoes and crisp lettuce. I asked for containers of hot sauce and mayo on the side, keeping my fingers crossed that wasn't against the rules. The only thing that would have made it better was extra mushrooms. Before I take my next shop, I'll see if that's allowedsmiling smiley
I wish we had 5 Guys near us. I'll be the odd one out and say I LOVE their fries!!
We have a spicy Mert in the house! Green peppers, jalapenos and hot sauce? Oh my!

Actually, I ordered hot sauce and mayo on the side, but didn't need either. Me, spicy?
It no longer meets my criteria of "If a meal is part of my pay it has to be a meal I like and enjoy" YMMV
As much as I love eating at 5 Guys, I won't accept these shops unless the fee goes up. I don't do mystery shops for a free meal or for peanuts.

The fee isn't enough for the requirements of the shop. The sad part is that there are three of these restaurants close to me.

...No matter how good you are, the pigeon will s@^t on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

Not scheduling for ANY company.

If I could order this I would take a shop in a minute MINUS the $5 milkshake. It has been at least 2 years since I last shop for one, but they continual are on the JB. Did you have to order the milkshake?confused smiley The fries, just taste and give away.
I love their burger and fries. I stopped doing them when they dropped the fee. I haven't even been on that MSC website in a long time. They just do not pay enough for me.
Didn't have to order a milkshake, nor was there a mention. Maybe they haven't rolled out the shakes in my market. The last shake I had was in the hospital, following the birth of my first child, almost 27 years ago. For some reason, I wanted a vanilla shake from Hardee's. Hubs delivered and it tasted mighty good!
I saw the fee for $9 and food reimbursement.

Interesting about being re-tested...If it's a one time test, not too bad...
I can't say with a 100% certainly that their food was the cause but when I last ate there (not a shop) I got a pretty severe case of the runs that lasted almost 3 days. I did have a regularly scheduled Doctors appointment during the 2nd day and was prescribed Lomotil which did clear things up quickly. As I said I can't be a 100% certain their food was at fault but it's something you don't dismiss easily.
imagator: Usually food poisoning occurs (symptoms) within 2 hours of ingesting the food....

Did you notice the time frame from getting ill?
Yes it did start later that same evening but didn't get real bad until the day after.
I did so many of these shops that I got burned out. I'm not a fan of their fries, either.
I used to like doing them but one time the creepy manager said to me, as I was headed to the washroom, "Now you are going to check the washroom." I put that in the report, that he must have known I was the shopper. Then I was banned from doing all the locations! I wish I had just left it out. I can see them banning me from that one location but not all.
Oh yeah, this company is quick on the trigger finger with shoppers that might have been spotted.

Personally I like doing these at the right fee, which as easy as they are doesn't even have to be that high. Nothing like an Arches shop or anything. Not any in my area on the board right now though.

I will say it's insane the number of "best burger" awards they win. I mean they're good for a chain, but they can rarely beat a good burger from a local place.

At the moment only demons come to mind
mistry, I was banned from one location. Others have been banned from all locations. I would guess that it would not have made a difference if you reported "Now you are going to check the washroom.", or not. The writing was on the wall.
I would love to do these but for some reason they don't seem to allow shops on Tuesday or Wednesday and those seem to be the days I always find myself near one. sad smiley

Time to build a bigger bridge.
I am no longer allowed to shop the one near me but I get great bonus offers for others. I assumed I was outed because it was a late night shop and I was the only one in there. I like the fries and order burgers without the bun. I only eat a few of the fries. If I ate all of the food from all of the food shops I do I would be to big to fit in the door.
They are always on the board by me, I do them when it gets to $15 or higher although sometimes I will do them for $11 if I am doing shops in the area and need a lunch meal.
There are at least 10 of them in a 5 mile radius . (and 50 in a 50mile radii) The only ones to get bonus are the late night ones and they are bonused no more than $1 and that no joke. They aren't bonused here. Maybe one reason why I find it hard to accept them.

When they first moved here (10 y ago) there was one or two in a 20 mile radius. Now they are like MDs, showing up on every street corner and in the middle of the woods.

How did they keep track? With your debit card?
