Do You Post on Volition.com?

True, but He ordained RAY THE V-GOD to control the Volition boards for Him! ;-)

Yes, but I play their game for a reason. I am not registered with my name, as required. I registered with a variant of my name and it was accepted. Volition is another resource, and I can't have too many of those.

Joan,

I know that Volition has a separate schedulers forum. I wonder how much weight schedulers place on input from other schedulers regarding individual shoppers and how you deal with that? How does that process work?
(Every time I see the name "Joan G" I think of a butterfly that was an avatar somewhere else. smiling smiley )
Yes, I check in there from time to time. However, I prefer this forum. It's editorial style lends itself to a better exchange of information without the aggravation. Thanks, Jacob and moderators. smiling smiley

PS: I would periodically check in with the Soup-Nazi if the soup were worth it.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
I registered but never posted. The discussions I saw were mostly too old. I did find some good info on video shopping there. But the place is like a ghost town. I just figured eveyone preferred this forum. Now I know why!
I found the Volition site to be very helpful when I first started out in the MS world. I got so much info on different companies to sign up with that I still highly recommend it. I still engage on the forum site and use it when I want to check on a particular MS company. Even though some of the posts start out some years ago, I find it is good to know the background and history on the companies I am interested in. I do not have a lot of time to visit forums but when necessary, I still like the Volition site. I guess I have been lucky as I have not had any problems with any of my posts and I have never been scolded or banned for a post.
I went there to research on whether some MSCs went under different names when I was accused by one of being
registered under my two other emails. Sure enough, the company MSC did go under other names and that
was why I was registered under my other emails. The irony is that although I asked to be deactivated, the
MSC did not remove my name from their d/base and I inadvertently took a shop under that MSC under another
name. I am now regularly doing shops for them.

Ever try the crab bisque?
I would rather have an enema with greenbean casserole than ever try to post there again.

Now Cettie, that would imply you've had a GBC enema in the past, since you seem to know what the experience would be like. Was that part of a classing diet or something?

In all seriousness, Ray is pompous and obnoxious, but I gotta give him props for not suffering fools well. Volition remains a pretty well organized and focused wiki of MS knowledge because of the control he exerts upon it. There are few BS threads there and newbie readers can learn a lot about MSing from reading there.

Clearly it's no longer the place for socialization, and it seems that experienced shoppers prefer the more relaxed format here where we are allowed to go off topic and interject humor into the posts. As a newbie, do you want to learn as much as you can about MSing or debate the anal cleansing properties of green beans?

Once you have been around a while, the green bean discussion is a welcome distraction from MSing. I have very questions (about MSing) that need answered these days, so I prefer the to post and read where humor is allowed.

Actually, even *as* a newbie, I preferred both. I went there, pretty soon after I came here; I never went there again. Here I could both learn AND be entertained and amused. Why *wouldn't* I go for both?! Learning was/is a lot more fun here. smiling smiley

Besides, I learn better from 'real' people... or more accurately, I should say, people who are allowed to be real.

Just like I don't like TV shows that are all drama, or all comedy. Life isn't really like that. That's why I prefer something like, say, NCIS to the old-time cop/crime shows where not even a smile was allowed, let alone a joke or any other semblance of humor. smiling smiley

Never at Volition would the goat army of flugelhorn players be allowed to roam freely.

Cettie, obviously he did not recognize your title nor read the Dr. Suess story of Yertle The Turtle. It will be interesting to see who replaces him when the time comes. I doubt that it would be the plain little turtle named Ned.
They didn't want me so I came here instead and haven't looked back since.

Shopping the UK, Denmark and Sweden as well as elsewhere at times.
Volition was the first MS forum I came across. I tried to join with LJ but Ray wouldn't allow it. I explained that's my name like someone named Robert might be called Bob, etc. but we ended up in a pissing match so I decided I wanted nothing to do with a forum run by such a douchebag. Some kind person led me here and I never looked back - I've not seen their site since that day in 2007.

Have they? I haven't noticed.

I was cleaning out my alter ego e-mail box and saw a ton of notices from Volition. Yes, Made, there
have been many lately. Not like it was when I joined, however.

To me, Volition looks goofy.. it not only has ms information, but other tabs which are not related. This forum is totally ms and professional, and has a wealth of information for all levels of shopping. It is also easy to get around...
