Techie Question (Phone Call Log)

I recently performed a long two-day route. 11 of the shops required phone calls. For some weird reason, I am anticipating some "resistance" with some of my reports. As proof that I made the phone calls, I would somehow like to print out or download the outgoing call log from my cell phone. I have no idea if that is even possible. If it is, I have no idea how to do it.

Can anyone help?

Why are you concerned? On non-recorded phone calls I've never been asked anything beyond the date and time. I also wouldn't print anything unless they asked because if you made any personal call mixed in they will be able to see those numbers too. TMI. If you do get asked, you could try to screen print. You would have to check into how to do that for you model of phone. I have an iPhone and if memory serves you have an Android.

You can probably get a log from your online account for your cell phone provider...but I wouldn't bother unless asked.
Yes, I have an Android. Where is Techman01 when I need him? smiling smiley

I made all the calls in succession of each other so no personal calls are mixed in. And no particular reason. I just have one of my weird feelings and about 80% of the time, I am right. I usually have things in writing with e-mails but since these were non-recorded calls, I just want to have back-up just in case. I am not sure how long the calls will stay on my outgoing call log.

Yes, go to your account with your on line provider and more than likely you will find a log there of the date and time of the call, the number called and the number of minutes used. If I recall correctly my provider is about 36-48 hours in getting them posted up. Like you I have wondered with a particular MSP if the calls would be questioned and just did a screen shot to pdf to have it handy.

What Help Desk? If you are talking about the cell phone carrier, AT&T is a total PITA to deal with over the phone.

I just took a screenshot on my Android with the logs showing. It showed the name and time of the call.

what would a call log prove? That you dialed the number?
Doesn't prove you actually spoke to someone

Yes, I want proof that I called and my phone shows the duration of each call.

I have my reasons but I don't have the time to get in to them right now. But my anal retentiveness recently paid off for another project with a different MSC. And because I had everything documented, I "won" my case and just under $100.00.

just login online to AT&T's website. They list every
call's time and length. You can usually export it
to excel and can delete any calls you don't want
them to see.

If I think a store will challenge a report I always
write down a couple things that would be easily
seen on camera so they know I was there and
it makes it credible. Something that the employee
did even if it was something like they walked 3
times to the salad bin. It gives them a good
reference point, especially when their camera
times are not accurate.

Sorry to disappoint, techman01 but I don't have video cameras in my bedroom to record me making phone calls. tongue sticking out smiley

There is one company that has a two part project where you call a bank and have materials sent to your home, that time is logged with a date, there is two weeks to receive it.

Then you visit the branch. When all the materials are in you debrief. So you do 12 of these banks and only 5 come in the mail. You have to debrief with out the ones that came in the mail. I had some branches ask why I am calling them when I live xxx miles away. I keep a record of my cel phone bill and highlight the numbers.

Recently that company sent out a global message if there is a continued pattern of not receiving mail where phone calls may not have been made they will be taken off the list of routes for the bank.

Where was this global message posted? Or was it sent out by e-mail? I think I know which project you are talking about but I have not seen any messages. And are you talking about the "old" MSC with carrier pigeons or the "new" MSC that pays a bit more per shop?

Shop2lv it was a pop up when I logged into the site a few weeks ago. I will go back and look for it. I had a unrealated question that I called the company for and asked about it. It probably was the company that does not pay as well, but they always been nice and have lots of work by me and they pay on time.

They call and ask at the end of the month if you can take a job, if you ask about a bonus they will say let me check and we are not offering any bonus at this time. The next day it will be posted with a bonus.
