Bank shops

I have been doing bank shops for more than 3 yrs for a well known msc. Recently they lost the account to another msc. I happen to be doing business with them also. After some conversations with the new msc & answering questions about the old msc's forms etc, we started doing the same old shops for the new msc. At a lower rate I might add. After several months at a restricted # of shops per month, I get the following email. " . . . have marked you spotted (as a shopper at any branch at all) you can no longer shop any of the branches." During my relationship with this msc, I have done several hundred shops with a 9.8 out of 10. Whatsup with this????

It is not at all unusual for MSCs and/or clients to insist that when any shopper becomes IDed at one bank, they can no longer be used at any of the local branches of that bank. This might be especially true if the shopper has an account at the client bank and so could have their account marked as belonging to a shopper.

What seems a bit odd to me is that, unless I am reading your post wrong, you seem to have helped MSC2 by telling them about MSC1's forms and proceedures. That would be a violation of your ICA with MSC1, which survives even after they lost that client. Maybe MSC2 decided that if you would do that, they might rather avoid chancing that you would violate your ICA with them.

Again, I may have misunderstood, so please let us know about that statement.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Wales, I thought the same exact thing about the ICA violation. I have had schedulers ask me what MSC use to do particular shops that they now have. I always respond with "you know I can't tell you that." To which they usually say "yeah I know, just thought I would see if you would tell me."

Not to mention cameras and if they review their videotapes, they can figure out you come in there a lot...

I used to do an insane amount of bank shops for one MSC and I am very surprised I never got blocked...smiling smiley
I agree with Wales & Diana...it does sound like it's screaming ICA violations.

There's one bank I shop where I have an account. I don't shop the main office, which is where I opened my account and is the only branch I use for business. I've shopped some of the branches 5-6 times. I just put myself on a longer rotation so I run a lesser risk of getting noticed, and I've blocked myself from shopping three branches where I'm sure I've been recognized, although not been reported as a shopper.

I suspect the OP was tagged for the ICA violation more than being spotted. I get the feeling after reading multiple posts here that bankers know they're going to be shopped and treat it as part of the game.
