Video Mystery Shopping Companies

This is a list I had compiled of some of the companies that do video mystery shopping. I had considered doing it since I teach video art, among other areas, in my teaching job. But, I have not decided whether or not it is something I agree with, so I have not done any such shops nor have I worked at video shopping for any of these companies. I am posting them for info only; you should research them further if you decide you want to pursue this area of mystery shopping.

This list is separated by US and International companies; within each section it is alphabetical.

This is another company that I had found; again I have not worked with them.

Wow! Thanks, Dee. I haven't done this, either, but it is something to consider, and I'll be registering with the ones I've never heard of.
I'm reading of some turmoil at ServiceTrac. Anyone have any VERY RECENT feedback?

Dee,
You are correct on two counts. It is Service Trac, not Service Track (as shown in the list above.) And, yes, there are several posts on other forums indicating both administrative problems and very slow paymnet. It's important to understand that many fulltime video shoppers travel long distances to shop and can easily rack up travel expenses of more than $1000 per month. So, if the expenses and fees are not paid as promised, one could easily be owed several thousnds of dollars after only 2 months!

Several of the most active video shoppers are not going to be doing any more of this MSC's assignments until everyone is paid in full. That may push the company into recruiting mode, so be very cautious.

Yes, but the link goes through to ST. I have read the other posts, And I have asked for comments. And though "they" read here, they refuse to post publicly here. I posted. Maybe others might too.

Some shoppers will no longer work for EPMS, either on written shops or video shops. The issue has not been pay (at least not as far as I am aware) but, rather, that the MSC thinks it's okay that their clients can give the shopper's name to the target. some shoppers have had rather nasty encounters with targets who disagreed with the shop results.

In addition, the folks who manage their video work need to take a course in "The Care and Feeding of Video Shoppers!" My suggestion for the title of the first lesson: "Hostility is Not the Answer."

Yes, EPMS has this issue with both video and no video shops. However, whenever you do an apartment shop, you have to give your ID. My advice is shopper beware.

Yes,
But I have yet to hear about a shopper getting nasty follow-up because they guess who was the shopper a week or two later and then managed to look up the info. BTW, I have done hundreds of apartment shops and I have more fingers and toes that the number of times the SR made a copy of the license. About half the time they don't even ask to see ID.

Really? I have had mine copied every time but one. It always makes me nervous. But they pay well.

Dee,
I think it depends on the rules of the management company client and how strictly they enforce them. Several companies around here either don't have the rule or don't enforce it.

Here, we don't have too many apt. complexes...we have many many many condo's that are rented out by the owners through property management co's. Those don't get shopped (that I know of, anyway. Maybe they are and I don't know.) But I have done apts for the couple of companies there are here, and they always get the ID's. When we were apt hunting in MD, we always got asked...which is kinda weird, since that is near you, but...the Bmore area is particularly crime ridden, so it might be a "better safe than sorry thing." You are lucky that they are not really doing it where you live. It might also have to do with state laws, too, but that I am not too sure about....I have heard some stories about people getting calls after the fact, though, that make me say, "shopper beware" anytime you have to use your real name and show id.

I ran across another company doing video shops tonight. I have not worked for this company...so shoppers need to do their due diligence.

Digital Eye Research

They specialize in automotive shops, something I avoid at all costs, personally, as going to a car dealer, for me, is about as much fun as open heart surgery without anesthesia, but I know some people love driving new cars and can ignore the hard sell.

This post was in response to HReid's ridiculous sniper rant. He has been deactivated and had his posts removed. As such, I deleted it.
