I love Pandora shops and one particular fine dining shop that only has 4 questions on the report.
Fox & Hound. Reimbursement is generous, pay is actually pretty decent, and since it's an audio shop, my write-up only includes visual observations and takes about 10 minutes.

Despite it taking me a full day and 200+ pages of reports and narratives... The cruise shops are fantastic.

In close second: Hotel/Casino bundle shops (Bonus points if I get to MS the airplane company)

In a distant third: What I like to call "Black Ops Shops". Shops where I need break policy somehow to see how staff responds.
New home video shops! Short or no report, fun to plan and interesting to do. And the pay and travel bonuses are very nice indeed, especially since I have such a fuel efficient car.

Close second: hotel shops with room service dinner and buffet breakfast, and lots of rewards points, as well as a fee.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.

This is a really great question! I'm new, and have only done a handful of shops and those mostly car shops, so it is of vital interest to me. Pay/Work ratio and time of payment are great criteria; so essential as to be quickly considered elemental. The enjoyableness of a shop is obviously a factor, too.

As far as I know, we don't have the shops mentioned in my area (deep South to Southwest), but I would be really interested in more people naming names and recommending types of shops.

Also, with these car shops...I know that I'm an agreeable customer since I'm interested in the features of the car and having them explained to me but they seem to take forever, especially the finance part. Is there any way to shorten them without compromising the shop?

Cheers,

Tous is shopped? Cool!

Edited to add my favorite shop is 7 days all inclusive resort in Jamaica. The report was over 100 pages and I wrote another 100 pages narrative, but it was still awesome.

Second favorite is 3 days on South Beach at a 5 star hotel. The report was 100% yes/no. No narrative.

@Walesmaven - I agree about new home shops. I still get nervous, but the pay is excellent. I almost forgot my name yesterday, but side-tracked the SR and made a fast recovery.

The AMC Theater bar checks or Regal Theater shops. Another one of my favorites is this small smoothie shop called Tropical Smoothie. Unusually, I also get a joy in doing some in-depth bar integrity assignments. The simpler bar integrity assignments are good too.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
Porsche...the pricepoint is such that they generally aren't going to expect a sale that day so the pressure of dealing with finance is gone. Also, I agree with Wales about the new home video shops.

Have PV-500 & willing to travel.

My best shop: I get to keep the $140 pair of walking shoes plus $15 fee to boot. No more shop and return, but shop and keep. That's my kind of shop now. In addition, I was reimbursed within 3 weeks. This wonderful MSC is my favorite now.
Any shop where I can make $150 in 30 minutes or less. I've had four different shops where that was the case. Three involved driving 100 miles or more; one didn't.

Time to build a bigger bridge.

Is this the Fox and Hound that's in Hubertus, WI?

My fav.... that last minute shop with a pretty darn good bonus (read: a VERY nice bonus!), super easy report, and reimburses just the item you were looking for at a place you hadn't thought to look! WhooHoo!!
The to-go shop for Cheesecake Factory. I get a $6 item and get reimbursed with a $30 gift card.
Most cellphone shops. Quick and easy usually, especially if the salesperson is not very good. Unfortunately, playing around with all those smartphones made me really want to buy one.
ShopperShel, I don't know if they have any locations in Wisconsin, and I've never been to Hubertus.

They have locations all over. The most important part of the shop is the recording of you asking to place a to-go order, and what you are told.

My favorite easiest? Take out from a well known chain. My favorite because I love the perk? $300 reimbursement for a luxury item!
my favorite is the msc that pays every 2 weeks. I usually earn $150-$200 per pay period.
my favorite shop of all time was a last minute bank shop that took around 15 minutes and paid $150. That doesn't happen very often though.
My all-time favorite was a multiple-part finance company shop in which I played the role and basically stayed in character for a week BUT it was a handsome $700 fee. I had the best fun doing that.

The shops I do on a repeat basis are car shops and bank platform shops. I can really get into those and yes, I'm a weirdo who thrives on narratives.

I like the upscale dinner shops. Even though it takes me several hours to do, we get a nice evening out. Eat at some nice NYC restaurants that I couldn't normally afford to go to.
I just increased my admiration for a mystery shop company I already loved. I did a series of shops for them a few weeks ago that netted me $200 in fees. Someone contacted me from the company by email a week ago and asked for my mailing address. Yesterday I received two $50 gift cards in the mail as an additional thank you.
I am just responding to the question posed in this thread so don't even think of asking for the name of the company. It is small and local and I don't need the competition from other shoppers.
Honestly, I love narratives! Not, First Event, Second Event - I want to tell you the entire story, detail by detail for the entire visit. Any company who lets me do that = LOVE
I love make-up counter shops.. I take all of them, I get so many free samples that I never have to buy any make-up and it's decent pay for the 10 minutes and easy report.
Porsche - the Used Vehicle video shops.

If you had told me three years ago (when I was a science teacher in the inner city) that I would be driving late-model Porsche Carerra S vehicles for a living, I would have laughed and shook my head.

Greatest job in the world.
The ones with multiple choice options!! grinning smiley
