MajicJack is the worst quality VoIP provider out there. You can do much better with Google Voice even.
They have dropped calls and use a poor codec (Voice compression) G.711u is what you want to use.
You can use a non branded VoIP app and share the same phone # that you port in from your voice line.
If you are looking to replace your home phone and don't need Enhanced 911, you can buy an ATA device from Amazon and port the phone number in from a landline, or cable company provided land line to it.
