Panera - Breakfast tommorow

I never had breakfast there. Anything good? What should I avoid?

It looks like they have a nice hot Chai Tea Latté, but would that be considered "Off the Expresso Bar Menu"? I'm more of a tea person than a coffee drinker.

All I can picture is microaved fried eggs like they do at Dunkin Doughnuts.

Souffles! Mmmmm.......I like the 4 Cheese and the Ham and Swiss ones, but they recently
changed the menu. They may not be available any more. You may not want to know the
calorie count if you're on a diet, though! Get there early--they go quickly.

Other than that, they make some sandwiches with fried eggs--meh. I do not care for the
Vermont White Cheddar, so I've had them substitute that--as well as the bread and bacon--
when they're out of souffles. They may have some other stuff that I'm unaware of.

I must eat a "breakfast sandwich". No Souffle for me. And my drink must be off the Expresso Bar menu.
No susbstitutions allowed.

Oh man you guys got me wanting a Panera breakfast smiling smiley

I've had their soufle and the sandwich with the ham on it....both really good....

But personally I love their french toast or chocolate chip bagel that they toast and put the strawberry cream cheese on top....that and a cup of coffee and I am good to go....

I thought I liked Panera food until I had breakfast doing a shop there. Then I realized that my purpose in life is to consume copious amounts of breakfast foods there! I choose the sausage, egg & cheese sandwich. All that with white cheddar on grilled cibatta. There is no equal in my breakfast sandwich world!!

Just make sure to follow your directions. I ordered an orange juice, but that isn't an acceptable drink. I think you have to order a hot drink/coffee or a smoothie. I called the MSC later that morning when I realized it and asked if I could redo the shop and they let me. So, I had to take a "loss" on the first shop and go back for another breakfast. Awwwwwwww, poor me! sad smiley

I think there is a bit of a rotation, so I haven't seen another one in a while. I guess I could go there and "practice shop." Is that a valid business expense?

Could I have a receipt please?
I don't drink coffee, so I have ordered the Chai Tea Latté on this shop each time. That drink is acceptable for this shop, or at least it was the last time I did one.
I ended up getting the Chai Tea Latté. It was OK. I think it was made from a powdered instant tea mix, as it tasted just like the instant Trader Joes garbage in the brown can. I'm a real tea snob, so I'm hard to please.

My Chai tea recipie starts with a high quality black Assam loose leaf tea (6 oz) and then I grind up the following till its almost dust in my mortar and pestle and add it to the tea tin. It takes a few days for all the spices to soak into the tea and it needs to be shaken really well to combine.

20-25 or so cardomom pods, twelve large whole cloves, one stick of cinnamon (about two inches by half inch in size), and star anise (one and a half or two stars. Don't go overboard with this as it will overwelm the other flavors).
mmm. So jealous, I haven't seen them shopped here in STL, where they are called St Louis Bread.
You aren't looking close enoughwinking smiley It seems they fly off the boards and the MSC refers to them as Panera even when posting for STL.

Thanks Lisa - perhaps I don't check that MSC enough. Seems like they have lots of shops I've never noticed.
scanman1,

The coffee area is self service so you can get whatever you want provided the receipt shows that you requested latte or whatever...if you ever get soup, their broccoli cheddar soup is fabulous. Yummy!!!!

I drank the Chai latte they gave me, and then refilled the cup with a coffee for my second cup. I had to evaluate the coffee station, and I used up the last of the creamer. Lucky for them they had two of the real creamers sitting out. I placed the empty one off to the side and an employee came over almost immediatly and and refilled it. Otherwise, I'd have had to write a narrative and ruin the perfect shop score they got.
Arch: I love their Clam Chowder and also their Cream of Chicken Wild Rice Soup....but then Panera doesn't have a really bad dish or soup as its all good!

I did a Panera many years ago. Haven't seen it since. Is it the same Fast Food and Casual Food company?

Also they are all over the shop board in my current location. Never see them at home though.
