RE: Meat and Deli shops at large merchandising stores

I have been shopping for several years and read this forum diligently. I am only a part-time shopper but recently was referred to another MSC by a MSC so I signed up. I was just wondering if anyone here has had experience with the meat, deli and pharmacy shops at the large mass merchant department stores. They pay 10.00 with a reimbursement of 2.00. You are allowed to do up to three during a visit. How extensive is the paperwork for the money involved? I have to take into consideration that I am looking at a 45 mile round trip also but I do some grocery shopping at this location at times. Any info would help. Thanks to all.

It's okay to say "Meijer" as long as we aren't naming the MSC. The shops and reports are easy, but I will only do them in sets of three, and only during off-hours. Checking out is a nightmare when lines are long and carts are full. The only real nuisance otherwise is having to choose a different checkout lane for each shop.
Thanks for the info. I will probably follow up on some of these. Hope they let me take three at a time the first time. Agree-sometimes the checkout at these locations can be a bear. I am about due for a shopping day here anyway.

Watch your time frames MUST be 20 min between. And beware if a dept is empty you MUST find an employee. Good luck on the meat and bakery, they are frequently empty and will be rejected if management so no one on the shift right now. It DOES happen.

Hmmm the 20 minutes in between must be new. I haven't done any in awhile but I would go out in one door, do my shop on that side of the store and then back out that door, put my purchase in the car and then go in and out the other side and then do the third shop with whichever door didn't have a greeter. I have also never had a problem finding anyone in the main departments.

Checkout can be bad though.

The 20 minute rules has always been in effect. 20 minutes from receipt to receipt. It is in the guidelines.
Meat often has zero employees here.

Sorry I misunderstood you -from receipt to receipt but not from last shop to time in...so still I find it fine to leave, go to car, back in and shop then check out.

So if meat has no employees how do people buy out of the case? Is there a bell you can ring? Or do they just not sell meat out of the case all of the time?

Liz

Thanks all. Love this forum. Have only posted a few times but follow every week and sometimes several times a week. It is good to be able to get information from experienced shoppers and also get help when needed.

Receipt to receipt. Walking to the car etc works fine. Make a big circle. They have unstaffed meat cases while someone is gone on break etc. Means they lose sales if you want a counter order. In my mind you would think the store would want to know I wanted beef from the counter and could not purchase. Nope says the shopping company they do not care. They told me there is never that time unattended. Sorry there is. A case where company pays for info but if we see something we cannot say something. Frustrating. And time consuming on our part to track down an employee after they finish their break.
Maybe you could take a time stamped picture of the counter and the back for the time you are waiting for someone to return and send it the MS company.
Also, I have run into the Bakery Manager before, and the shop was still accepted. Maybe depends on the editor?
Rosythorne--If you live in my state, these shops are horrendous. They're pretty easy if you're out of my area, though. winking smiley Mine have been self-assigned since I've been with the msc. Are you waiting for approval?

I have never paid attention to any times in between shops. It's pretty easy to spend 20 minutes in between, but I'm sure that I have missed that on occasion. All of mine have been accepted.

I have also dealt with several department managers. No problem there, either.
