What department hires MSCs to do their quality control?

I was wondering how MSCs get their contracts with the various companies/businesses we shop. Does anyone know the business end of mystery shopping?

What I know is that many MSPs solicit business like many others. They have a website and some staff dedicated to creating new business. If you are seeing only the shopper log in page and website you are missing what companies put out there for clients. You might want to google some of the large ones like Bare and Market Force to see what is there for yourself.

A lot of them give free shops. A random sample of say, five or ten of the client's locations, and say "Here's a bunch of stuff you didn't know."

How they get them to jump ship from one MSC to another, I have no idea, other than promising a larger or more experienced shopper database, underbidding, or providing faster report turnaround, or a more streamlined reporting system.
