Wow, "interesting" shop opportunity

I have cold feet anyway. I want the shops canceled. It's been forever now (18th) since I requested them. Or should I say "agreed" to do them the next day. There has been no reply to my email. Ugh. Maybe the client won't accept me. smiling smiley

$45 this morning. Still no takers, the entire area 20 miles radius is still available.
Well ... It's about to hit the fan now ... After emailing a few requesting that I be removed from the project and getting no reply for 3 days, I just got a message that said, "You've been approved!"

Yay.

What about that message I sent three days ago that said there's no way I'm going to be able to squeeze them in and I've been for-freaking-ever and they weren't even in my usual work area anyway? Oh boy.

Well, we'll see how it goes. I asked nicely again because I'd still like to be able to work on other projects. I just would appreciate no having my credit wrecked (and being kept on hold for a week in the process).

Plus, my schedule really is jammed. It's the end of the fiscal quarter, remember? Haha.

I've always wondered about the payday loan shops- how much do you end up paying in interest since the ones that I have seen don't allow you to pay them off early?
wow - I think these folks are talking about a different kind of loan shop. Do a search for "payday loan" and you will get another thread which discusses what I call real payday loans. The ones I have taken on do no credit check but you are required to meet certain criteria. They pay well and the company pays the interest. The payday loans have just shown up on my MSC website this morning after being gone for a while. Starting pay is $45 and I have been paid as high as $150. Report is easy, peasy and to me it's like taking candy from a baby. I LOVE them!
I'm still waiting to hear on those "credit check" shops. On the 8th day I got another email saying "3 to 5 days" and I should hear by the end of this week. Well, I won't know what my days off are next week until Friday or Saturday. I had four days in a row off this week where I could have done them. If they assign them today or tomorrow I won't even be able to tell them when or if I can do them.

Ridiculous that it's taking this long to get something each shopper could have gotten from Credit Karma and emailed them a screen shot.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
Hmph. they finally approved me. The reports are due midnight the day after tomorrow (Saturday).

Luckily I was planning to go to Phoenix tomorrow anyway.

Ten days from application to approval. What was that nonsense about 3 to 5 days???

Time to build a bigger bridge.
I was a little put off when I applied for, and planned 3 of these shops into a route and then had to wait like 10 days to be approved. However, I think for $105 it made for an easy enjoyable 1/2 day of mystery shopping. I wish I could do more than 3! I will check my credit score but I do not think these 3 soft checks are a big deal.
Plusha mentioned getting a phone for the trouble of shopping. There was such a shop last year, but the company has been bought out. I used to see eyeglass shops quite frequently for three different companies. I don't have much time to look on MSC websites so if no one emailed or called, I might have missed the shops. I have seen some that require returning the glasses. Years ago, our whole family got glasses out of those shops. I definitely found out which ones I don't want to do business with. I was very pleased with the new one (to me) that I got my glasses from last year. Oddly, one shop requirement was to comment online for the company and presumably the world to see as well as turning in the report to the MSC.
I'm glad you were able to work the shops into your schedule once you were finally "approved" - that was only part of my dilemma. I also realized that I'm going to need to ACTUALLY apply for a new cell phone soon, and we are in the process of buying a car. I guess I made the right decision saving my credit hits for real life. I hated to miss out on those high $ shops, but there were just too many factors. ::sigh::

I did one and it shows as a hard check on Kredit Karma. I actually did not see the original credit check, just the one from the cell phone store.

Thanks to all the forum members!
So abcSHOP123, what did you find out when you checked your credit score? Were these really "soft" inquiries or did they affect your score? Please know, your response is important to a lot of shoppers.

(heart)

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
