Announcing the Winners of the 2014 Scheduler of the Year Contest

Dear Forum Members,

I'm proud to announce the winners of the 2014 Scheduler of the Year Contest. The contest generated a lot of attention and involvement by the community.

A lot of schedulers got a lot of appreciation.

How many exactly?

In all, 99 schedulers from 53 mystery shopping companies were nominated by forum members.

420 members participated by voting in the contest. (We stopped counting the votes as soon as the contest ended.)

With 32 votes, the winner of this year's contest is Shelly Martin from Kern Scheduling Systems.

Here's a breakdown of the runner's up.

1) Frances, Maritz (22 votes)
2) Robin Myers, Reality Based Group (21 votes)
3) Erika Wooten, ACE (19 votes)
4) Joni Stead, Summit Scheduling (18 votes)
5) Barbry Booth, Customer Impact (15 votes)
6) (tie) Felicia, Market Force (12 votes)
(tie) Alan Juarez, KSS (12 votes)
8) Jeffrey Rose, Bare International (10 votes)
9) (tie) Marguerite Turner, A Closer Look (9 votes)
(tie) Donna Goodwin, GFK (9 votes)
(tie) Teresa, Market Force (9 votes)

Call me jaded but I lost interest when I learned that at least one MSC was solititing votes. Would Francis or Robin or Erica have beaten out Shelly if shoppers were not contacted?
None of the people contacted had to vote. If I had been contacted about it I would have shrugged and not bothered since I don't know her. Apparently, people like her enough to not only vote, but in some cases take the time to come to the forum, sign up for an account, look for the thread and cast a vote. I'd say they really like her.

Besides, it's not like she's winning a cash prize and took it away from someone else. So she gets a little recognition for some good work, more power to her.

I believe this was only ever intended to be a light, easy-breezy fun little thing with little or no rules or moderation. Just fun to see what happens. Only a few whiners had to go and make a big whoop-dee-doo about it.

Lighten up and have some fun everyone.

So the winner is Frances? Awesome!

LOL Bbird - I know you don't read your shop guidelines like you read that announcement. j/k tongue sticking out smiley

Frances was my pick too. She came in a strong second with no campaigning. I'd say that's worth a LOUD shout out. smiling smiley

Congrats to Shelly Martin. She has a lot of people who really like her enough to come here to vote.

BBird, Frances had 22 votes in comparison to Shelly of Kern that had 32 votes. Frances is the runner up.
Eric in Tampa ~ Sorry bud, you missed the irony of BBird's post.

I still think Frances is the real winner. At 90-something years old and no e-mail who works for a MSC that barely uses e-mail, she legitimately won in my book. You have to admit, she did not solicit anything.

Okay, there were some wonderful tributes written by shoppers who nominated their favorite schedulers. Some were very well written and special and provided major kudos to particular schedulers. We now have a list of winners, but where are the shopper kudos that were offered to the schedulers? Have we preserved the kudos and moved them somewhere?
Of course -- here is the direct link to the nominations thread:

We're planning on highlighting some of the nominations soon.

Thank you, Jacob! Preserving those kudos offered by shoppers to favorite schedulers, whether the schedulers "won" or did not, represents a real feel-good aspect of the contest.
Congratulations to everyone who was nominated, and to those who weren't. Scheduling has to be one of the most demanding jobs in this field. Hats off to everyone!

Always take the high road.
Frances is the winner among MSCs. Shelly is the winner among scheduling companies.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
I have not had the pleasure of working with most of those schedulers, but I totally agree with those who nominated Barbry and Marguerite! They are both a delight to work and talk with!

I think that the company is actually called, "Kern Scheduling Services," or KSS International?

Oh, is Frances older than Loretta? She has to be pretty close in age to Frances.
I rarely shop for them anymore. The fees haven't changed since the late 1990's.
I wonder how the schedulers feel, reading about how much they are appreciated and loved by their shoppers? smiling smiley
Hopefully really good, SunnyDays smiling smiley

I saw several of the schedulers I work with on the list. Since I think they are all super, I just says a big congrats to them all!
I sent a few congratulations emails to some of the schedulers that I worked with. One in particular had no idea what I was talking about, so I referred that person to this site.
what did they win?
