It's end of quarter....don't forget to ask for that bonus!

This is the end of the quarter and for many companies the end
of their fiscal year. That means msc's need to get shops done
before the end of this month without exception.

Ask for a bonus every time on all September shops when they ask
if you can help. I don't care if the the shop is down the block from
your house and you were going there anyway. Ask! Don't be afraid to say no.
If they then come back to you a few days later, say okay but now I need a few more dollars.

Maximize your value over the next 10 days!

Bonus. Bonus. Bonus.

Did I mention bonus?

Plan the work. Work the plan.
I didn't know about the fiscal year ending this month and that advantage from the shopper's point of view! Rock on. Thanks for the tip!
Hubby and I maximize every end of month. It's only the 20th, and we are raking it in.
Are these bonuses in smaller cities and towns? I rarely see bonuses of more than $5 or $10 on the shops I do not like or the night clubs, which are substancial.

Yes, at least in our area. There are not as many shoppers living in or willing to travel to outlying areas. Yesterday, I drove 24 miles to a fast food shop. I was offered $28 and asked for $40. It was approved.
I've got 35 shops starting on Tuesday and running through Friday around Jacksonville/New Bern/Havelock/Kinston, NC...all nicely bonused.

One MSC is even paying for one night of the hotel stay.

.
Have PV-500 & willing to travel.

Hey Mert, Since you didn't mention the client, please tell us who the MSC is.
I was lucky to be assigned three bank shops on a route within 20 miles of home at $50 each yesterday - not a bad Saturday morning's work. I'm grateful.
I have seen several companies offering high bonuses in the last two weeks.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
Why would Mert want to tell anyone where his gold mine is?

Time to build a bigger bridge.
I was called today to shop McDonald's on Wed. And it isn't far away.

"Will you do it for $13?"

"Nah, I'd have to rearrange my schedule, thanks, but I'm going to pass."

"Well what would it take to rearrange your schedule?"

"Well, .............I'd do it for $25."

"Okay, but don't expect this much every time."

"Right" smiling smiley
It must be nice to live in the middle of nowhere.

My market (Central Florida) is full of shoppers.

As soon as I get an email and go to the job board, locations start dropping like flies on the big companies.

If I see a shop that is within 5-6 miles of me, I need to grab it before some other shopper does.

If I take the time to read if I'm doing scenario A, B, or C, I'll be doing scenario D: None of the above. moody smiley
It's been like tumbleweed around my parts. I had a ton of shops the first 4 days of the month and now very few are posted. The ones that are only show up a day or two before they need to be done and are limited to a 4 hours window on a weekday so I can't do them with my work schedule. I shopped on sunday and don't have anything scheduled until friday sad smiley
I was offered $20 for mcnuggets the other day, asked for more and got $25. I was shot down last week when I asked for more than $20 though.

Asked for a bonus on a circuit with another MSC and was shot down.
Double bonused for hamburgers two weeks in a row. Will my waistline stand it? One more call and I really have to say no.

I thought the MSC was evident. But, the middle-of-nowhere towns with bonused shops, are a well-guarded secret winking smiley
scanman1 you must be signed up with the wrong msc's.

I get bonuses all the time for central fl shops. Last week I
got 115 dollars for a shop that normally pays 15. And that
is just one of dozens of examples in the last 10 days.

Of course you should always try to maximize your profits as an independent contractor...just don't forget, us schedulers are people, too! We have jobs to get done, and a limited amount of funds available to do so. Those bonuses don't come from thin air!

At CI, our schedulers are full time employees. I do not believe this is the case with all MSCs, but it's how we operate. I'm always open to answer any questions you guys have, just let me know (I don't want to derail this thread).

McDonalds is fleecing us in India. They pay USD 2 fee plus USD 3.50 as reimbursement for
meals. When I refused they gave me USD 1.50 for transportation. Max I get for McDonald is
USD 3.50 plus Reimbursement( normally it is USD 2.75-3.40).

Maximum bonus offered by one MSC is Rs 100 only.

Normally Bonus is not the norm with any MSC.

When I refused to do a shop for Rs 350( including purchase ), MSC got other shoppers to do it.
I got what I asked for when called to do a McD in a town 27 miles away. They were already paying a premium. I still declined when I call the call a second time. Then came the question; what will it take for you to do this for us? Give me $30 and I will do it. Now that I know how to do this, I am not going to undervalue my service. Been doing this for 3 years. So much to learn.

Interesting! For shoppers in countries outside of the US and Canada, what are the acceptable entrees to order for McDonald's?

In the Philippines, they serve spaghetti, fried chicken, rice, longonisa (Filipino style sausage), etc. I wonder how different the guidelines are in the other countries McDonald's are shopped at.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
As I was writing my post I got a call asking about a local shop that usally pays $5. I got $20. And then she asked how often I go to a large city 35 miles north of me. I said since it was so far, I don't normally like to choose that location. She offered me $40 for each shop withing 2 miles of one another. For that I can go!
K-Mart audit here jumped from $20 to $80!

Plan the work. Work the plan.
There must be too many shoppers in my area. I got a call this week and the bonus was $5 less than what I had just seen on the job board. To drive over 20 miles in the pouring rain? No thanks! I didn't even bother to counter. Clearly, some schedulers think we are blind and don't check the boards. Note to Scheduler: If you offer a bonus, make sure it is more than what is already posted.
I did a McDonalds today for $40!! Then an Ace H-Ware for $30 and a grocery for $15. OK, so I drove 100 miles for it . . . still, a very good day!
