Prescription Shops

Two MSCs, appears to be the same client. In terms of shopper compensation, the newer MSC is certainly not an improvement. Anyone know the deal? (I'm hoping this does not ultimately result in a client loss for company #1.)

I can currently see prescription shops on two different MSCs for different pharmacies. The one MSC only covers a shop fee and gives you a discount card to use and you are responsible for paying the rest of the non-discounted prescription. Since I have a full-time job and health insurance, I would be losing money doing this shop even with the shop fee. The other MSC offers a shop fee and reimbursement so is a better deal.
Yes, exactly, even though the fee is lower, the reimbursement more than makes up for it! It looks like the client is the same, I hope it's just that they're trying to cover more ground, not that they're axing the more generous one. Once you've done the shop with the reimbursement, it's difficult to reconcile doing the other one.
I have done the one with the small fee. The gig is they are comparing the cost of the drugs with the RX discount plan vs. insurance co-pays etc. I had to go back twice to get my medicine. It is a good thing if the drug store is close. This was abour 6 months or so ago. The idea may have changed.

The report was super super easy if I recall.

It turned out for me the co-pay was a better deal, but I had to check the cost of the prescription discount plan. OP is this the shop you are referring?

Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do.
I agree. The MSC with the small fee and the higher reimbursement is much better. In fact, their fees are generally higher for most of their shops than many other MSCs. I laughed at this other MSC offering the flat payment only with no reimbursement. Good luck with that one, is what I thought! For someone with insurance, your co-pay would probably make it cheaper. For someone with no insurance, you can probably do better just to use a different coupon. If it's the same client as the MSC has that offers reimbursement up to $50, their Rx discounts aren't that great. I saw a $13-15 difference using another coupon service for both the prescriptions I had filled. If anyone needs the name of this coupon website/app (they have a smartphone app too), send me a PM.
I personally hope all the shops with the flat fee go away soon, they are really messing up my Presto map. It looks like there are a ton of SASSIE shops available until you start clicking and 99.9% are these cheap-o pharmacy shops.
I just completed one. You were allowed to use any pharmacy in your state, but not one that had your insurance information on file. A discount card was provided and you asked the pharmacy to use it when filling your RX. The RX could be yours or a family members, a new RX or refill. There was a fee and reimbursement for your RX up to $40, whether they took the card or not. The report was easy, just had to report the interaction with the pharmacy staff. Nice!!
I see there is another MSC that seems to have the same shop but with only a fee and no reimbursement for your RX.

I see tons of these shops without the reimbursement. I haven't seen the second MSC that has them though. I don't know if I will take one. I have an RX that needs refilled, but with my insurance I only pay $4 at Walmart. I don't know what it would cost with that discount card, but I assume it would be more than $4. I will probably just stick with my insurance this month.

I wish I could figure it out too, I guess they are not in my area. I did a ton of them before they changed the reimbursement, my favorite shops.
Yes they surely are!

I've done a ton of these since the beginning of the program and was always reimbursed the "up to $__" amount. Well, the last one I did only paid me the fee. They changed the guidelines to only reimburse IF you used the discount card. I could have easily done that because the price wasn't that much different. Sure, the report is easy, but I spent a LOT of time waiting while they looked up the discount card price and only got $3. I wrote to the scheduler, but she didn't respond--apparently didn't care.
