Ok, I need techie help...

I just got an IPad to use for this business.

You see, I am an Android girl, so I have been going very slow with the Apple for the learning curve. Now, I put in my reports fine except when I went to upload the receipts, I could not get the pictures to attach.

This was Market Force platform. It gave me the little pop up balloon to choose from "camera" or "existing" but when I click either button... nothing.

Is it the platform or is it the IPad, which, in this case would mean that I did something wrong....

HELP!!

While I am here I am going to edit this with a further question... is there an app that I can print from the Pad to my own printer???

To print from the Ipad make sure your printer is compatible. I had to load apple air or something on my mom's printer so she could print with her Ipad and then she has to search for the printer icon in the corner pull down mene.
This is a list of airprint printers has to be a wireless to start with here is the info

For marketforce download and install Chrome and see if that works better, than safari
Never liked Android or iOS when it comes to work. I liked to easily save my reports before I submit them, file them the way I want, use Microsoft Excel to organized my work, etc. I just feel like a tablet that isn't Windows 8 is just gonna make your life more complicated when it comes to the admin side of being an Independent Contractor.

As to your question, Marketforce recommends Internet Explorer (though Chrome works OK for me). Sassie and Prophet works OK inputting your work, but you'll likely have trouble attaching your pictures or POV's. To summarize, stick with a desktop operating system like Windows XP, 7 or 8. If you're adamant in using a tablet, get a Windows 8 tablet with a keyboard. Learn to save your work before turning it in for your reference and in case you need to provide documentation of your work.

I had a Nexus, I hated it. My smart phone ( an Android) I love it and utilize it both with shopping apps and reporting. I also have a laptop that is windows based so, as Taranado suggested, I do use that for most work. I opted for an iOS tablet to open up more apps that are not available with the other platforms. It is working wonderfully for me and I like that it is smaller than the laptop to carry around.

Another big reason is he school system here uses the IPad with the students. The grand baby just started Kindergarten and they are using it for things like Reading Rainbow for library. I have downloaded the apps and we work together on what she works on in school. They also give them out in the upper grades and figure that it will be less of an issue for her to get her own set up if she has one to work on at this early age.

These are the only 2 issues I have had so far, everything else is pretty easy going. I guess for now I will look into the air printer thing, thank you yawarakai and Komondor for those suggestions.

Any input at this point would be helpful for getting the pics into the reports and it probably should be noted that this is the first report that I tried to enter that was not an app... Thanks again!

I use my ipad to upload my receipts to Market Force and have no problem. In uploading pictures, I use my laptop with internet explorer.

I must be doing something wrong them. I probably have them stored wrong or something is locked in my settings. I get the ballon pop up that asks if I want it to come from the camera or from an existing pic but when I press it ( either one of them) it does nothing.... Blah!

Thanks though, at least now I know that it's me and not the platform or the MSC site!

I use my iPad to upload pictures. It works most of the time. I believe MF may be one of the problems. I usually use a laptop and the iPad when filling out a report, typing narratives in Word while I have the questions on the iPad. Pictures are much easier on the iPad because I email them to myself from my phone, and it is much quicker saving on the iPad than naming the file and saving to a disk on the laptop. I have trouble with Regal when I need to attach more than one file to a report because they don't have unique names. I haven't done enough reports to remember which other companies I have problems with. The iPad is especially nice when a PDF is required for Service Sleuth because there's an app to use to take the pictures that makes them into PDFs. At the very end, I do use the laptop to print to PDF so I have a copy of the report. One of the many tips I learned from here.

Kathyee,
I think it depends on which iPad and IOS you have. I have an iPad 2 running IOS 5 and can't upload to shop reports, but many others on the forum say they have no problem. I think many have newer versions of both. There were several threads on the forum on using tablets, technology that gave some great advice. I think some were in the General Discussion section.

One thing I love is Evernote. There is an app, and a Gmail/Google extension, that lets me 'clip' the web page or document (from my desktop) and stream it, in the correct format, to my iPad. It saves me from either printing the shop form (or guidelines) or having to modifying it in a note app. You can edit the form in the Evernote App and after I complete the form, I can email myself a copy.
I just updated it to iOS 8 so it's the newest technology. I babe a report to try tonight so I'll give it another go. With them I can do the report and upload the receipts on my laptop if it doesn't work so it's not a big issue but other companies I do work for don't allow you to do that. Once the report is closed, it's closed for good so I'd like to perfect it before will do ire work for them next month.

Thanks again everyone for the help!

Figured it out!!! I used Safari instead of Chrome and I had to down load an app to resize the pics.

I was aggravated at first having to download the app for that instead of being able to go into settings but then I realized that for Maritz it will be so much easier just to snap the pic through the app and be able to size it right then.

I have to say, I am liking this so far for reporting.

The app is SimpleResize for anyone interested and it really is very simple.
