Anyone get this 1000 cups of coffee email?

scanman1: Thanks for the news on the National Coffee Day receipt - sometimes we all get lucky.

Super Official Disclaimer: We're not responsible for any Caffeine Carnages you happen to commit while drinking some of our 1000 Cups of Coffee. We ARE happy to watch any YouTube videos of your rampages, though.

Carnage aside, we do like your suggestion to compare two nearby chains. We're very interested in how the chains compare to each other!

wow: We're trying to assess the cleanliness and speed inside the store, so sorry, no drive throughs will be accepted.

BBird0701: Glad you like the gas station shops - we actually debated for awhile whether to include them or not.

kimmiemae:
Short Answer: The project will last as long as we sell 1000 cups of coffee (give or take a few hundred).
Long Answer: Each chain has a certain limit (521 Starbucks, 379 Dunkin Donuts). Once a chain hits that limit, ALL of those locations will come off the map (no, we won't publish the name of the person who takes the last Starbucks shop!).

Jack,

Hope I didn't miss something simple. I grabbed a shop on my computer and of course it wouldn't let me verify the location (which is pretty close to me). I went to the location and got the coffee and attempted to do it on the phone and I have the message "Go to insta.prestomobilesurveys.com with your computer and adds (Oh the irony!). I was hoping to simply come back home and complete the survey on the computer, but it won't let me since it can't verify I am at the location (of course).

Edited to add: I tried a second location near my office and this time it worked on the phone (did the same exact thing as I did the first time). The page kept blanking out despite the fact I had a strong signal, but I did get through the survey eventually.

I'm trying to access a coffee shop on my iPhone, but I keep getting this message:

"Sorry, your web browser is not supported. Local storage is required, and this web browser does not support it. Please upgrade your browser and try again."

What does this mean???
My locations were so close that I could walk to them. I assigned them on my home gaming computer w/Windows 8.1 SR2 that is hooked up to cable internet with no GPS and scanned the receipts on the flatbed scanner like I always do.

It worked just fine. The corrent location pin for me was about three miles off. With just the Cable ISP IP address, you cant get any closer than that, but it let me grab the map and move to my neighborhood and take the shops anyhow.
Phoebe, that "local storage" message shows up on older iPhones/older version of iOS. Presto requires iOS version 7 or later, unfortunately.

I did an update last night (iOS 8.0.2) but I'm still getting that message.
I completed a shop, but it would never let me verify my location. I have less than 30 minutes. I tried to verify my location while I was standing IN the store, and it still wouldn't work. I have the correct phone settings, etc. I reported the location as a problem, but I don't want to miss out on the reimbursement in the mean time smiling smiley What do I do?!
Phoebe70: Yes, you definitely have an up-to-date phone! Is it possible that you've got Private Browsing or Incognito mode turned on? That message shows up in that situation, too. Thanks!

Currently, 358 shops are in - we're 1/3 of the way through!
I checked right after receiving the email last night and the closest coffee location was 35 miles away sad smiley
And I'm one of the 358, LOL. My daughters were happy this AM. Everything worked great. Wish I had known about National Coffee Day beforehand.

Yes, I ordered the Chai Tall Latte.

If you look at the survey, you will see an option for tea.

I think it was also mentioned in the Youtube shop video as well.

I may have to get another one before the day is out at another location and have my final allowed shop complete.
This is a broken app in that after signup it would not allow me to login and the reset password feature never sent an email.

I have used the prestomaps on some MSC already and it shows promise when it is working.

The email certainly looked like a Spam although Gmail let it through.
From my computer, it shows my location about 35 miles from where I actually am. I think that has to do with my ISP? It shows more accurately from my phone.

Brian Berger, no app yet, but if you have an Android device, you can add it as a widget on your phone, so that it's almost like an app.

Brian: Sorry you had trouble logging in. We were able to determine that your signup was never completed (usually a missing field or bad birth year, but we can't specifically tell the reason in your case) and that's why you can't login or reset your password.

Please try signing up again and let us know how it goes?

451 cups of coffee so far, 549 to go!
I thoroughly enjoyed my coffee this morning and I also found another great shop using this site. I had a bit of an issue with trying to verify my location but somehow (I'm not quite sure what I did, LOL) I managed to get it to work in the nick of time! smiling smiley
I had the local will not let me open the page due to "private" browsing. I took that off and it worked just fine. I like the smiley faces on the survey. I was lucky, because the barista made a second venti latte by mistake, and offered it to me.

I just did a DD and a Tim Horton's. Didn't work from my android phone - had to take my laptop.

BBird, I have the same problem - when I am at home they ask for my location and it is way, way, way off. When I parked in front of DD to use their wifi it was right on. Weird but I'll take it so I can get the survey done.

This was the first time I've brought my laptop along and used it in the car. I left it open to report the shops and apparently it's heavy enough the car though it should have its seatbelt on because the car kept dinging for my "passenger" to put the seatbelt on...lol

Great to have a cup of coffee while on the read doing some shops. :-) Yeah!!!
They are quick and easy.

Yes, this happened to me this morning.
marta (and anyone else who had difficulty verifying locations or other issues):

Please visit [prestoshoppers.uservoice.com] . You'll find helpful tips there and also have the ability to post an email to tech support.

In several cases they'll be able to help you complete your shop and get paid (especially if you had a problem verifying your location).

thumbs down Ran around wasting gas like an idiot on this one.

I've used Presto Mobile for a while to find shops, but the Insta-Shop was new to me, so I thought I'd try it out today. Before I set out on a long trek, I figured I'd try it out on the closest location to me - 15 minutes away. I saw there was a shop near me, so I headed out, figuring I'd try to get that one first. If it worked, I'd head to the next city where I had some other business I could tend to.

I get to the parking lot, log in and it says all the shops have been filled - they reached their limit. I drove home.

I looked at it on the computer again, and they were still there. Curious, I clicked on the location nearest me. It said it was assigned to me and I had minutes and seconds (didn't specify how many) to complete the shop. Oops. I didn't realize I had accepted it earlier when I looked at it, but okay.

I drove back to the location again. Logged in, brought up the shop and verify location. It said that it had found my location, now it was going to check the distance. Although I was sitting in the parking lot, it said I was too far away. I walked up to the building. Still too far away. I sat at a table. Still to far away.

I gave up and came home again.

I still see there are locations available, but I think I've spent enough gas money for nothing.

Thumbs down on this one..

I think you need to accept the shop on the same device as you finish it on. I did two jobs and have been paid and did it on my home gaming pc with NO GPS, NO CELL towers and no way to geo-locate. Just the UIP address to determine my City. Still took the shops just fine.
LJ,

Really sorry you spent so much time unsuccessfully trying to get your location verified (and the 30 minutes of driving - that must have been frustrating).

May I ask if you were using your mobile device or a computer? It sounds like you were using your computer. If so, what were you using for WIFI?

We've seen some instances in which the WIFI reports your computer's location pretty far off from where it actually is (WIFI's not always as accurate as GPS).

If you decide to give us another try and you still can't your location to locate, we'll still accept your shop if you have a receipt. Just go to [prestoshoppers.uservoice.com] and post an email to tech support and they'll tell you how to submit your shop and get paid.

We've filled about 500 of the 1000 shops, so there should still be some available for awhile!
Thanks, Jack. I answered you on the other thread that I was using my cell.
