Please no stones.. a tip from the Gypsy corner

I was talking with a techy friend of mine who showed me a relly great site. I was griping to him since him and his wife use to do ms before they moved to the area and my complaints about my web links were met with several websites that could keep me a little more organized especially after loosing my phone and computer. We shoppers use links again and again. We have our fav companies where the web address is most likely ingrained into our minds but what of those new companies we just joined or the companies that we go to out of desperation. To complicate matters, sometimes we switch computers, phones, tablets.

Anyway the site for our web bookmarks is : www.xmarks.com
For those that use several different passcodes and remembering them all is frustrating : www.lastpass.com

I have not personally use lastpass however I am loving the xmark site. I have downloaded it onto my tablet and the computer I am at. It is really easy to use and now I have the links without having to scour my email for the email I sent to myself several months back containing the links.

I hope this helps. The last time I shared a tip, I was given the riot act so please if you don't like my hints be polite. Send me a pm and tell me to stop sharing. Do anything but toss rocks - thanks.

Hello Gypsy,

Please don't stop sharing. Hints are always helpful. Please accept my toss of imaginary diamonds.
I use Google Sheets, which is similar. I have an Excel MSC spreadsheet list which I have exported to Google Sheets. It has all of my MSCs on it, along with a hyperlink to the site, my Login ID, and my passwords. I can access it from any device by logging into my GMail account.

Honestly, I dislike having that information "out there" even though it's password-protected, but it's turned out to be a necessary evil for me when I'm sometimes having to login through multiple devices. Some sites go wonky for me and I have to try from my tablet or phone rather than my laptop or Chromebook.

I like this idea, though, and will look into it as another backup.

Plan the work. Work the plan.
I use Firefox and they have a bookmark Sync feature. You can have your bookmarks update on all your devices and PC's this way. You always have your bookmarks up to date and never loose them.
I list all of my MSC's under favorites. I put them in alphabetical order and add in the password. Always next to me. You can also print this out, just in case.
Thanks for the tip, gypsymonkey. I may be getting a little old, but I am always ready to learn something new.
@BBird - thank you for the GoogleSheets info. I just emailed me my agenda calender (excel sheet) for the month of Oct. I was checking it on Gmail and saw the link. I clicked it and it works great. I had always ignored it before. Thank you for the tip.

Click options under firefox menu and then go to sync.

Uh oh, your entire reply did not copy here...I am replying to your signature line about staying up all night and not necessarily getting lucky. I feel lucky tonight to have read the tips in this thread. I guess feeling lucky for something like this is really showing my age, or maybe it is due to my age and being a female!!!
Thanks to Gypsy as well...
Now I better go see if I can find the other kind of luck.
Gypsy - helpful tips are always appreciated. All of my MSC's are bookmarked as favorites with the password so I can just scroll down and check the job boards. I am not super technical and this works for me. Don't worry about the haters on the forum - they are everywhere in society - I enjoy your adventures and stories.
I use GoogleSheets to keep track of my running shop log, with pending shops at the bottom of the page. I never know when I'm going to want to pull that up and it's great for keeping up with requested shops that I am waiting to hear back about. That sheet is also my tax records sheet, since it tracks mileage and pay info as well.

Like the others, I also use Firefox with a sync'd browser so my favorites are the same on all of my devices. It makes a huge difference.

One more thing, my email address and password are the same on most sites (Thank you, Sassie), but some sites make me use their special number. For those, I include it in the title when I bookmark the page. So it might say Maritz Research - 123456 as the name of my Bookmark. That keeps me from having to look it up every time until I memorize it. Some of them I don't use regularly enough to ever memorize.

Good tips in this thread!

I use RoboForm, but it only works on IE and I mostly use Chrome. I prefer Chrome because I can open my 25 favorite msc sites at one time.

@gypsymonkey - I'm going to check out xmarks.com. Thanks for the tip. Toss my imaginary pearls on top of BBird's rubies on top of Kathy's imaginary diamond pile.

@BBird - Awesome tip on google sheet! It will come in handy for my various excel sheets. Toss my imaginary sapphires on your pile.

Cubbiecat, I use RoboForm also, and it DOES work fine with Chrome. Check your settings or something, I don't know why it's not working for you.

Thanks for the tip about xmarks, Gypsy!

I use Chrome, have my sites bookmarked with passwords saved. I have chrome on my phone and tablet too and since it is Google linked, anything on my computer shows on my phone and tablet.
