"Hey, I think I've met you before."

I had the same terrific employee, and I'm STILL looking at cell phones. (ha!) He introduces himself, and without thinking I give him my real name, which I also had used about 6 months ago. "Hey, I think you have been in before and I remember you. Weren't you looking at phones a while back?"

I come back with the absolute first thought that comes through my mind, "Oh yeah, I think I have been here before, but back then I was trying to help my nephew find a phone so I was shopping for him".

Mr. great employee, says, "Oh yeah, that's right," and doesn't miss a beat in his 99% perfect presentation.

I've had this before, except it was at a bar for an assignment. I was at the bar for a different assignment about a month before that. So when I arrived again for the same assignment with a friend, I ordered a Jack & Coke. She asks for my friend's ID, but then states to me, "I think I remember you; I don't have to see yours again...." After taking a look at my friend's ID, she changed her mind and then asked me, "Actually, just in case; let me see it again."

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
I was doing a 5 Guys shop yesterday at a location I have never been to. This location has also apparently just opened and is a short distance away from a shop I did with my husband about a month ago. I entered the location and as I was talking to the cashier, another associate turns around and makes I contact. I can't tell if she ID'd me or not but I know I have seen her before and wonder if she transferred from the other location because suddenly the employee (in red shirt) was barking orders at the cashier (in grey shirt) about giving me my receipt, she gets a cup, would you like any additional items, etc. I just smiled my best "dumb blond" smile and made a comment on how everyone is so friendly around here and kept going. Haven't gotten any notice I have been made yet, but it was a little nerve wracking. Thankfully it was one of the new awesome online shops so I was able to visit the restroom, take my baggy and leave ASAP.
I always, always have a plausible excuse ready as to "why" I am back in that store, since I do a LOT of cell phone shopssmiling smiley
I had it happen as a single male setting up a baby registry.
Did a little tap dance and sang my way through it
I have a Five Guys where the manager greets me with "Welcome Back" which he also has done for about 6 other customers when I have been at that store.
I did a bank shop not long ago.... I told the scheduler I had visited the bank, and I recognized the banker from my previous visit three months prior.... so I made an excuse to end the interview with the banker and said I would come in the next day (Saturday) asking if she would be working.

She said she would not be working... so I thought "smooth sailing" I would come back tomorrow to a different banker.

Saturday, I visit the bank, and sure enough, I get a different banker. Sitting across from the banker, she states, "You look familiar. Weren't you here just a few months ago inquiring about an account?"

Suck air. She was the banker I talked to about six months prior to this visit.

I said that people think I always look like someone they know... then I asked her where she went to church/school/etc... and we had no common link.

I guess I won't shop that bank facility again....
I am the real shopper that spends sometimes years deciding on a major purchase. I have been researching cars off and on for several years now. My current car (2002) works fine but I keep thinking it is time for a new one. I will need to visit that Volt dealer again soon as the new models are out now. I still have not found the perfect one for me that will allow me to ditch my old car. And I shopped the same few shelters over and over for 2 years before finding the perfect dog...and I love her so glad I waited for her to come along.
In any case, these were not mystery shops but just letting you know there are real people out there that do go back again and again...well maybe not for hamburger comparison shops but for bigger items. Maybe they all think I am the mystery shopper but since I am not I do not get suspicious when they recognize me. lol
cell phones, I use my husband and my son (who is usually in school) and say I'll send him in now that I have all the information for him.
