Chipotle Shops

Any idea how to get information on the Chipotle training? I really want to attend one asap! I was emailing with a scheduler from the company a while ago, but never heard anything back in regards this question. I just want to get a schedule so I can see if/when they will be near me smiling smiley

The MSC will contact you when they have a training in your area. There is no advance schedule that I know of. When they need more shoppers in a location, they schedule a training at one of the Chipotles in the area and notify all shoppers who have registered with them. They plan it so that they can train multiple shoppers at the same time.
Usually the training invitation is sent on short notice. Like three days notice.

Twice I've noticed the invitation coming out just before a holiday weekend too.

However, they want a response pronto.

Also,be aware that sometimes the trainers don't show up at the last minute. So if you have to go a distance, keep that in mind.

The last list I got had training dates and locations through the end of Oct, and locations without dates through the end of Nov. These were for training dates throughout the country.

But they don't usually send out invitations unless you are located within 30 miles of a zip code they need shoppers for.

So the best advice I can give is to register and then wait.
I applied in 2013 after seeing something somewhere. Couldn't attend the training dates published. I saw a posting on Jobslinger? The training dates, locations and times were posted. I emailed the contact person and scheduled myself for one of the training sessions. No one contacted me directly although I was registered and well within 30 miles of the training locations.

They limit the number of shoppers at each training session so that you get personal attention and can easily see the demonstrations of what is, and is not, good practice and acceptable food. So, unless you get into the class promptly, you may miss out on that round. All training is held at a local restaurant and they fly client and MSC staff in to conduct it. They only want to have enough loyal shoppers in an area that each can expect at least one, preferably more, shops in each month. That keeps the shoppers current and well practiced and promotes mutual loyalty. So, it's worth it for most to wait to get into a class. The MSC is one of the best to work with I have encountered in a very busy 9 years in the business. And, the operative term is "work with." These folks don't make their shopper feel like cogs; they make the shoppers their colleagues, IMHO.

I went to a Chipotle training, and one of the shoppers started talking about how he does movie shops, always gives the rewards, and now the manager lets him and his family go to the movies for free. I was amazed.
Good info, everyone. I guess I need to send yet another email to my schedulers for the company that lists them to see about training. I have not heard of any in Las Vegas. Thanks for the schedule, Gene, but it won't help me. sad smiley
The MSC website isn't the worst I've ever seen, but man it is up there with the worst. In training they said there is a new website/system under construction. Can't wait!

Be sure to not judge the MSC based on their website layout.

This MSC is by far one of my favorites when it comes to quality schedulers and editors. They are reasonable, personable and extremely responsive. Never had an issue with the company, for this reason.

well I emailed both Mike and Corey after training with a question 4 weeks ago and never heard back. asked the same question to another person there and never heard back either. Plus the website really is bad.
Does this MSC send you an email when a shop is assigned to you? I joined recently and waited expectantly, checking the board at the beginning of the month, but nothing. So, if I don't have to do that (meaning they email you), that'd be nice.
shopsuey – You first need to make sure you have pointed out which locations you can even shop. This section should be available in their portal immediately after logging in.

Based on my experiences with the schedulers, they'd prefer you only pick out what locations you'd see you can do. Also state detailed availability such as which days, lunch and/or dinner time frames, etc. You can also specify which is a "1st Tier" location for YOU, "2nd Tier," etc.

Then, at the beginning of the month, the scheduler in your region will release assignment request directly to YOU. You should accept / decline the assignments on the portal and you will also receive assignment requests via email.

"Orphaned Shops" (shops that a shopper has declined or just haven't been assigned to anyone for whatever reason) will show up that you can request as well.

Since you're new, you'll likely hear with your assigned scheduler soon since the end of the month is coming up. First thing's first, pick out the locations you're able to shop. I suggest to not go overboard and say you can shop your whole state. The schedulers really do personalize your assignment requests so you could likely accept them every time they ask.

Hope this helps!

quiettime – Lol again, you shouldn't judge just based on the website. What's the question, maybe one of us can answer?

FYI, the staff of this MSC are active posters on this forum. So I'm sure one of the will see this thread at some point.

Thanks, Tarantado. I did all of those things when I got accepted and expected to see shops assigned to me at the end of September, but nada.

shopsuey – Do you know who your scheduler is? Maybe touch base with them if you haven't done met yet. The scheduler I've been working with since I started working for them has been extremely responsive.

I signed up with them three or four years ago and never heard anything so I signed up with them a second time and still didn't hear anything. Is there any point in signing up with them a third time?

I doubt signing up again would be productive, based on my experience:

I signed up and several weeks later got an invite to a training day that was about 4 hours away. I apologized and turned it down. It was months later (with no other communication) that I got another invite, this one for training 2 hours away. I accepted, and have enjoyed both the relationship with the scheduler and the assignments ever since.

Obviously, your mileage may vary. I hope it works out for you soon...
